CAP vs Barner

Typically we have carried 3 RBs with a FB in the mix. CMC and Anderson are locks at RB. Armahgeddon is a lock at FB from what we hear at mini camp - Norv seems to be utilizing him a ton more.

So when it comes down to the 3rd RB spot - Are we all so certain CAP will make the team? Barner brings the added value of KR/PR ability. That alone has me leaning more towards Barner. He's much more of a 3rd down, screen catching, quick-shifty kinda guy. Also don't sleep on Elijah Hood from Carolina. Could be a nice camp battle to watch in Spartanburg.

Btw, we still doing the Spartanburg thing next year??

It was the same with Clemson fans last year and the LB(Boulware) who was CLEARLY not an NFL caliber player.

That is the #1 problem with college sports fans, they can't take off the homer glasses at the next level.

But he sleeps in the parking lot and sticks his finger in buttholes of opposing players!

The infatuation with Hood is just a bunch of overly excited UNC fans not seeing the obvious. Not every good college player translates to the NFL.

One day last season, or the season before (?), there were more NC State QBs starting than there were UNC players starting.

Even being an NC State fan, I wouldn't want the Panthers to load up on State players that weren't worthy of NFL roster spots. I am not hating on Hood because he is from UNC, he just simply isn't an NFL caliber player.

Similarly, guys like Reggie Bonnafon are unlikely to be anything more than practice squad or training camp bodies. Fans get too caught up in a lot of these late round picks and UDFAs. The overwhelming majority of them are not going to pan out.

    • T-Mac and DJ really would be a nice pairing that compliments each other well. However... I'm not interested, as much as I do still love DJ and would love to see him as a Panther again, but in a vacuum, not in reality. Trading for DJ means either XL or Coker get no development the rest of the year, and possibly even both, and really it would effectively end Horn's season too, as he'd be back to not getting a uniform on game days. If we were a true contender this year, then sure, bringing him in would make sense, but since we're not, we need to ensure those two develop this year by getting the targets they need to get better.  Not to mention we shouldn't be spending money on a WR contract right now anyways, not when we have so many on rookie deals and have so many other holes on the team that need quality players.
    • Can we ever just enjoy having good players? Some of you always want to trade, and then you complain when those players ball out somewhere else like CMC, Burns etc.
    • nah put hunt and moton back it   though keep mays
