Rumor : Kemba to LA

Recommended Posts

on WFNZ they were tossing around a deal with Kemba going to LA in exchange for Lonzo Ball.  The deal would not work straight up but personally I would be willing to take on the headache of daddy Lavar if they were to add Kuzma to the deal to make the salaries work or maybe even Hart. Lonzo is the bigger guard that would pair with Monk I do believe and there is the Laker connection with Kupchak. Anyways this would all hinge on Paul George and Lebron also heading to LA , but what say the rest of you would you be interested in a deal for Lonzo. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23878485/kevin-pelton-weekly-mailbag-how-lakers-add-kemba-walker-superteam

To be honest the Hornets picking up Lonzo, Brandon Ingram, and maybe picks wouldn’t be a bad trade at all. This fanbase doesn’t understand we don’t have the money to signed Kemba to huge contract and even if we do we are still not winning anything. It’s time to rebuild let’s be honest. I’m tried of not making the playoffs and signing Kemba long term pretty much keeps us out of contending because we want be able to afford to add pieces around him.

I can't envision Jordan wanting any part of Lavar after all the poo he talked about being better than him.

Jordan is going to bring the ball family here and then challenge him to a one on one before every practice.

There is no way we land Lonzo and Ingram (much less plus picks) for anything on our roster.  Kemba alone isn't enough, and the only other assets we have are Bridges and future picks, at which point we aren't really helping ourselves.

I’m not saying it’s likely we get all that but to get something before he leaves it’s better than nothing imo. But the Hornets are not going to give him up for free and Lonzo will definitely have to be included in the trade.

    • Bryce hasn't done a single thing to prove he deserves to have his option picked up.  I'd have less of an issue with us declining the option and bringing him back as the starter next year than I would have us picking up that option, as that means he's on our cap books for the next 2 years instead of 1, even if he's cut before year 5. Tua threw for 3,500 yards with a 25-8 TD-INT ratio in just 13 starts the year before they picked up his option, and then threw for over 4,600 yards before they gave him his extension. Kyler threw for 3,722, 3,971, and 3,787 in 16, 16, and 14 games (while rushing for 544, 819, and 423 in those seasons) before they picked up his option and then signed him to an extension before year 4. Jones threw for 3,200 yards with a 3-1 TD-INT ratio with another 700 yards and 7 TDs rushing in year 4 before they signed him to his extension. Bryce has thrown for 2,877 and 2,400 yards in 16 and 12 starts his two seasons, while being on pace for 3,128 yards in a 17 game season so far this year. The closest comparison to any of them was Jones, who while he's turned it around this year, is someone I think everyone can agree was not a player who deserved that extension after that season. If people think those other QB's having their options picked up and/or given extensions were a mistake, in what world can you look at what Bryce has done and make any rational argument for him even being brought back as our starter next year, let alone also picking up his option that would cost us about $27 million fully guaranteed.
    • I don't think we would actually play Hooker but hopefully we also just don't see. I don't view Dalton/Bryce as a worse option than Winston/Howell. I just think we disagree on this specific subject is all.
    • I guarantee tepper would fire him if we lost out and he’d be justified
