It very much is the same thing. Just means a law that was implements years prior to the Trump admin is actually being enforced.

Nope. That's the narrative that the administration has put out, but it's simply not true. There is no law requiring either separation of families or "zero tolerance policy" on enforcing what is admittedly a rather vague law. When Obama and Bush separated children from adults, it was always because there was clear evidence that the adults were either not the childrens' relatives or that the adults were smuggling drugs.

The "zero tolerance policy" was put in place by the Trump administration as a deterrent to illegal immigration. Unfortunately, they are applying the zero tolerance policy to legal immigration candidates as well.

Would love more info on how this is happening to immigration “candidates.”

Care to so specify or provide evidence of this?

Super nice of Josh.  Now, I wish someone cared about 4,000+ homeless children in Charlotte.  Seems like people only give a poo when it’s on main stream media.

Or when they are in the womb

My question again would be what options are they referring to? No one is offering legitimate solutions.

From the article:

"The laws prohibit us from detaining families while they go through prosecution," Nielsen said on Monday — a reference to the 20-day limits on how long children can be detained. Therefore, she says, "we cannot detain families together."

She argues that that leaves the administration with the options of not enforcing the law, which it rejects, or separating families. But immigration advocates and legal experts say that there are other options, including those that previous administrations have chosen.”

That's my point. They have options. Are they perfect? No. But they beat the hell out of damaging children further who have likely suffered the kinds of trauma you and I see only in movies. And they are using these people as political pawns to get what they want.

It’s 6 one way, half a dozen another. There is NO perfect system and you’re correct about that. Someone is getting screwed over no matter how you spin this thing. But like I stated, this “separation” factor happens way too often in this country but is typically a direct result of a parent making poor decisions.

They aren't making poor decisions. They are making desperate decisions that too often, turn out poorly. They can't do better until they know better and have better options.

That’s an opinion. No two familial situations are the same and we can’t generalize and say these “thousands” of families are all “looking for sanctuary” and not just a better opportunity.
