CJ Anderson

Best Hurney RB signing since Stephen Davis. Can't believe we got him for next to nothing. He definitely still has some juice.

Him and CMC are going to be a legit 1-2 combo. May not be as good as Stewart as his prime (although that's debatable), but definite upgrade over the J-Stew from the last 2 years.

Throw in what Cam brings as a runner and we have runners that can hurt you in a multitude on ways. The 3 of them together are as dangerous as any backfield in the league, including Kamara and Ingraham

Also, CAP is not garbage, but they have him a chance to show out tonight and he didn't do much. Still think he makes team but unless CMC or CJ gets injured he shouldn't be taking carriers away from them. Could see him getting a roster spot but being inactive on game day. Armah could be #1 FB and #3 RB

Anyone else shocked to see Anderson playing so late into the game? I was expecting him to get a few runs in the first half before calling it a night. Almost like the coaching staff isn’t fully sold on him or something but gotta say that he definitely looked legit running the ball.

Most likely more have to do with seeing what CAP can do with the second unit

I think they are quite solid on him and don't want anyone seeing anything about how they might use him in conjunction with CMC.

I think Anderson being so low was a temporary/respect move.  CAP been here for awhile and CJ was just signed.   I don’t mind it being it was the first preseason game.

But respect game has come and gone.  You showed CAP that.  CJ now should be positioned where he deserves.

It's not out of the question they were hoping for CAP to do something to help decide if he's worth giving a spot. Or drum up some trade interest.

I don’t think we have room for CAP this year.  Now that we have CJ....I’d rather have someone like Barner on the roster.  Barner is a better return guy than CAP which is what the spot has been bringing to the field of late

I agree man...Barner or Hood make much more sense.  Seeing CMC and CJ catching from the backfield like that makes me think Hood.  I hope he gets a bunch of carries coming up.  Need to see what he's got.

Yep. CAP wouldn't see the field this season. Barner or a similar player has a chance and plays ST.

I think Barner likely emerges as the best returner we have.   I know he didn’t impress in his first run here but the dude had some real explosive plays in Philly once he got some experience

Loved seeing Byrd at KR...enough shots he'll pop one.

    • looks like I was wrong on that going off memory.  It was one of a couple stats I looked at the other week.  Looks like I confused that league worst with the bad target %, yac per comp, etc stats I looked up.  Where he was league worst.  I still think solving the YAC and short pass game is the best way to maximize Bryce.  He might of thrown deep a lot.....but he has never been a good deep thrower.  Outside of PFF declaring it with what ifs.
    • If those are T-Mac's first 2 seasons, then yes, our fans will be calling him a bust for sure.  But raw stats after the fact don't tell the full story, it all depends how they happen.   And to everyone who keeps saying he needs to get to 1,000 yard as a rookie because that's what elite rookie WRs do now, they keep just looking at things in a vacuum and not the full picture.  Usually the rookies who get to that mark are the only legitimate option in the passing attack for those teams. Anyone trying to point to guys like Nabers or BTJ last year are completely missing the point, T-Mac is not in remotely close to the same situation and is far more similar to MHJ and Odunze last year. The Giants 2nd and 3rd WRs last year were Wan'Dale Robinson and Slayton who had 699 and 573 yards, their 4th leading WR had a grand total of 62 yards in 16 games (their 3rd-7th leading rec yards were TE's and RBs). The Jags 2nd and 3rd WRs last year were Parker Washington and Kirk with 390 and 379 yards, while their 4th WR was Gabe Davis with 239 (while their 2nd leading rec yards was a TE with 411). The Cardinals had McBride with 111 catches for 1,146 yards The Bears had Moore with 98 for 966 and Allen with 70 for 744 Thielen, XL, Coker are absurdly better than the other WR options the Giants and Jags had last year, there is a real argument to make that our 4th best WR was better than those team's 2nd best.   That alone is a huge hurdle to T-Mac getting to the 1,000 yard mark as a rookie, no matter how ready he may or may not be.  MHJ was supposed to be the most pro-ready WR prospect in a LONG time and having McBride there was the main reason he finished with "only" 885 yards as a rookie.
    • They are going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at us, refs probably help them out as well. Can we steal it, I hope so.
