Will Donte Jackson be ready for the # 2 corner job?

Was a little unsure drafting him but he has the athletic ability.

But he need to be with the 1s the rest of camp and preseason.  I think we are getting ahead of our selfs thinking he is first team ready right now.

There has only been 2 highlights and things of his going so far at camp.

He has consistently been beat by Moore, Smith etc.

He has shut down Funchess.  His big practices we all heard about that got people excited about.  He got 4-5 PBUs....................but every single one of those were on Funchess.  He Later was beat for TDs by Moore and Smith, but people drowned those out by the 4 PBUs he had on Funchess.

So this means either Moore and Smith are superstars eatimg his lunch, or we may need to be a little worried by Funchess

Jackson did get beat a few times the buffalo game by their 3rd stringers including the Shaq int, Jacksons man put a double move and got Julio Jones on us last year wide open.

Point is.  Jackson needs to be with the 1s the rest of the way with trial by fire.  Because he has the most upside, but needs to be thrown in to learn quickly

He came up and made a nice solo tackle 1 on 1 in the open field in Buffalo.

Just his speed alone is an elite tool that can’t be taught or coached. Secondary is so bad, that tool needs to be on the field at all times

He's literally .07 seconds faster over nearly half the length of the field than Seymour. People putting way too much stock in foot speed. Norman ran a 4.66. Mental speed is way more important.

Oh ok so Norman being an exception to physical measureables is justified here then, got it !

The point is Jackson was an expensive investment being a high pick. He had the best 40 in the draft I believe and he has shown he has some coverage ability.

Our secondary personnel is below average. Jackson needs to be the starter along with Bradberry.

Speed can make up for a few mistakes. Not all the time. But some of the time.
