Good point on the kneels wasn't thinking about those. But I count the scrambles in carries. McC shouldn't have the same # as Cam, he should have like 10 more.

The only reason Cam had so many was because the defensive end kept crashing down the line forcing Cam to keep the ball. Most defenses will not be as incompetent as Dallas.

Actually how many total carries were there?

i mean if C had 13( 3 being the kneeldowns) so 10, CMac 10 and CJ 7, 27 true carries,.. how many more can they give out?

If Cam hadn’t run 7 times before halftime for 64 yards I believe I saw, our drives don’t get sustained.

our opening drive should have been 7, stifled by the goal line fumble— that drive Cam was a monster,..

It was quite obvious that Dallas was keying on CMC.  I think those Cam calls were brilliant.  They were so focused on stopping CMC Cam had all sorts of daylight.

I am not a tape guy, I don't go back and watch over and over but before Cam started running CMC was getting no where with his touches.   Once Cam took off and ran a couple of time.  CMC seemed to get a bit more daylight.  Cam gave the Dallas defense just enough to help our entire running game.

Solution

CJ - Runs between the tackles

CMC - gets the tosses, sweeps, gadget plays, lines up in the a slot, catches out of the backfield i.e gets the ball in space

Norv has won super bowls with the cowboys, so I’ll hold my hatorade for a few weeks. But I was not thrilled with the play calling

If Norv would have used C.J. more between the tackles that would have set up PA for the deep shots and things would have opened up for the recivers.

This team is gonna have to score more than 16 pts against better team if they want to make it into the playoffs. Running read option as  your main staple on offense isn’t gonna work out long term you gotta be able to pass  fuging Rodgers put up 21pts in 2qtrs with bum OL.

If we let CJ get in a rhythm he would be busting some serious runs. It appears he’s Norvs ace in the sleeve. Saving him for the second half of the season.

Agreed.

When it's time to hulksmash teams late in the year having a low rep rb like CJ is going to be amazing

I don’t think the kneels actually count statistically as carries.

They do. It sucks because the kneel downs hurt Cam's (or any quarterback's) yards per carry average (in fact, the kneel downs took Cam to under 60 yards rushing on the day), but that's the reason the clock keeps running.

It's similar to the way spiking the ball stops the clock because it counts as an incomplete pass.  So if you look at the box score, Cam completed 65.4% or 17/26 of his passes, but one of them was a spike at the end of the first half.

He did go between the tackles, they both did.

17 carries for the 2 of them.

You keyed in on the most important at the moment— getting our passing game into a rhythm,..

Aaron Rodgers shut everyone up last night——

then again so did Ryan Fitzpatrick ha.
