We seriously should have traded Funchess while his stock was high.

Dude is stinking it up this year and we are going to get nothing for him after. We could probably had Earl Thomas and a pick from the Hawks. Something that would have improved this team not a guy who keeps Moore on the bench.

He dropped passes today and didn't have proper depth on his routes last week. He will be phased out of the offense if he continues to perform like this. We just need Samuel to come back to put him on the hot seat.

I actually said we needed to trade Funchess a week or 2 ago.  But Tondi is correct, his stock as never really been high.  Comparing him to Julio is a joke though.  Every good player is going to have some bad games and Julio is a proven commodity.

 

We may have not gotten much for Funchess but we would have got something.  Every week that goes by though his value is going to drop for us or anybody else.  He's done here after this year.  If he balls out and has a great season someone else will pay him.  If he falls flat, he's gone for the same reason for not keeping him if balls out.  That being, we won't pay him because we have too much cheaper and potentially better talent behind him.

I’m not comparing his skill set or career trajectory to that of Julio Jones. 

I am offering context and perspective on his performance today relative to that of a more accomplished WR.

What level of player would a “peak value” Funchess have yielded in a trade?

Problem is, every fanbase overvalues their own players...  Funchess' stock was never high enough to net more than a conditional late round pick.  He has always been what he is.
