My concern for the Oline is zero. Why? It's full of backups and anything that we get that's even remotely ok is a positive. Right now I'm just expecting Sack city every week. Aka It is what it is

That's a hell of a lot of hits on Newton if you're right though.

That said, the line performed okay last week.

It's kind of a reversal, because for the last several years, we've had confidence  in our interior blockers while our outside guys have been questioned (even though Oher actually did pretty well). Today, I feel like more people have confidence in Clark and Moton than in Larsen, Van Roten and even Kalil.

This might be an unpopular opinion but Trai did not look good against the Cowboys. I believe he had 2 holding calls and let a defender go untouched. I also remember him getting destroyed by Fletcher Cox last season. No way am I saying Larsen is better than him, but Trai does not make or break this offensive line.  Larsen had several starts last year and I believe he can do a good job filling in.

Can't speak for the prior, but it would make sense if his concussion was suffered during the Cowboys game.

The discussion of whether we paid the correct guard has come up on here before. I suspect the recent events will give it some added traction.

Has anyone found the play where Trai was concussed in the Dallas game?  Not discrediting their play, but it just seems odd to me when O lineman get concussions since they're not taking headshots more prone to skill position players.  With Oher and now Trai (believe he dealt with concussions last year too) what the hell's going on?

How come Panthers players concussions seem to last 10x longer than other player concussions around the NFL? I swear, other teams...player concussion...back in 1 week. Meanwhile for us a concussion is gaurenteed at least a month. I know player health is Paramount. It's just odd comparing to everyone else.

    • Well, the whole rationale used  for the high IQ point guard is it would allow us to spend our resources elsewhere….instead it’s all our first rounders ever since to support the bad pick.  Reality is our front office is just bad.  If you wanted Bryce Young you were going to need to do something unique and special for him.  Instead we just insert a QB with traditional tools into old NFL concepts that pair with traditional talent and our pass game is whack
    • Good to see some other folks are speaking the same language on this. It's simple common sense. But it seems like there's a disconnect due to the misplaced value the team has put on Thielen because he was the only vaguely good veteran WR willing to sign with the Panthers after we traded away DJ Moore. That time has come and gone. We have two first round WR's on the roster now.
    • Yeah I’m turning this into a Bryce can’t play QB thread. Just stating that offense was a poo show two years ago. No QB is succeeding in that, much less a rookie. I feel like it’s become a common debate strategy on here to just jump down the rabbit hole of saying he is just bad in so many ways when any certain point gets countered. If that doesn’t work we can deflect to how poorly this team has been ran. In regards to the actual point we are debating, the OL was struggling, half of the skill players aren’t on a roster, Mingo has done nothing with his new team and the staff are either not coaching or on their 3rd team in 3 years, aside from McCown (I liked McCown too). Honestly about as bad as it gets. No need to try to state how good of an offense it was billed it because that has been proven false at this point.
