Well, at least that ends the "let's go back and try to sign Breeland again' posts.

Sometimes things work out... much rather have Donte than Breeland at this point. When you add in the fact we used the Breeland money on Poe, it's a coup

Matt Moore was a December beast here. Always enjoyed watching him compete. Underrated passer too.

Matt Moore was the only thing that somewhat salvaged the disappointment of 2009. Him balling out on SNF against a loaded Vikings team nobody gave us a chance against and beating the Giants to keep them from playoffs with Buck and Aikman actively rooting against us was fun.

Think we would have won more than 2 games in 2010 had he played the whole season instead of mostly Pickles, but it ended up alright bc it led to getting Cam.

There was a time when Moore looked like he had potential to be the team's future QB. It just didn't happen.

Matt Moore, Keary Colbert, Ryan Delaire, Sherrod Martin... sometimes promising beginnings just don't pan out.

(I hope that's not prophetic for any of our current guys)

Not trying to rehash the past but Matt Moore kinda got a raw deal being thrust into the starting role for John Fox who was widely know for his offensive ineptitude.

Fox's career still amazes me.  Guy was on his third head coaching job without ever actually being fired from the other two.

Guess that's over, though.

Fox's early days were great. His defenses from 2002-2005 were largely some of the best in the NFL. It was around the 2006 season, when most had the Panthers pegged as a Superbowl contender, and they flopped miserably, that Fox really should have been put on notice. But that Superbowl appearance in 2003 got him way too much leeway from Richardson. Then he got buoyed by having Peyton Manning in Denver and showed how ineffective he truly was in Chicago. I think his career ended exactly how it should have.
