Bucs have #1 Passing Offense statistically

NAS

Recommended Posts

Surprisingly, the Buccaneers still have the #1 offense statistically in YPG, including a #1 passing offense at 376 YPG and the team in second place are the Steelers at 318 YPG.  It hasn't always resulted in points which is one of the reasons they're struggling, but I think we should definitely be worried about their potential for big plays in the passing game if the Panthers defense isn't able to pressure the QB.   Also, the Panthers defense was great last week, but we have been very porous in the red zone prior to that.

So last week we had to play the #1 Defense and our Defense stepped up to be the best defense that day.  This week they're facing a #1 Offense, will Cam Newton and company be able to outshine the Buccaneers and be the best offense this week?  I certainly think they can.

us dismissing them does nothing, they will play the same no matter what we think.  I think the team will be well prepared to face them regardless of them having a game thursday.  This does the makings of a trap game, but they will be ready

Bucs are also number 1 in interceptions thrown at 15.  Its either feast or famine with them and mostly famine

My suggestion: after Cam takes them to the woodshed, 41-10, and in order to avoid criticism for inducing another Bucs' famine -- he hand delivers pizza to them as they board their plane home.

I doubt he could keep that as quiet as he did his similar charity to those in need, here, after last week's game. but it would be a nice gesture.

1. It's a division game.

2. Historically we struggle against backups.. (although I have no idea what fitzmagic figures into).

3. Deshaun Jackson has always burned us at least once a game.

Will be a good game to see if we are where we think we are.

Yeah and the Ravens had the #1 defense statistically, how'd that work out?

I think the Benals were one of the best run stopping teams in the league before we played them and then CMC ran all over them

I think as long as we arent allowing Fitzpatrick to beat us deep we'll be fine. I would make the safteys stay in coverage for most of the game and keep everything in front of them.

Oh they are going to air raid us— Fitz will throw bomb after bomb—

what got me nervous was the number of times Flacco aired it out, and the receiver was open, but it was a bad throw,..

Fitz is on the money with bomb throws, so our FB can’t get burnt like that.

Fitz has to get killed by the pass rush first and foremost,.. there needs to be batted passes and the DBs have to be heads up for interceptions.

we will see, it may be a shoot out for us.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
