All the protesting and kneeling has let the country know the reason it is going on and now it is time for the players to do what they are paid for and play football and end the on field kneeling already..

They are playing football. They never stopped playing football. It's time for you to stop whining and post something else already.

The First Amendment guards against government interference with a person's freedom of speech. The Panthers are not the government. They are an employer. It is settled law that employers can restrict speech, political and otherwise, in the workplace.

Clearly, Reid DOES NOT understand his rights. It appears as though the Panthers are going to allow him to kneel. That is the Panther's right. However, unless their is contractual agreement to the contrary, the Panthers could likewise choose to restrict his ability to kneel if they so chose.

The way I see it, what kind of country would we live in if we were forced to stand?

I don't have to agree or support it, but when we force our values on others and use authority and power to do it, we become worse than the protestor.  That seems to be Rivera's perspective.

This is the problem because nobody is forced to do anything. You and you alone make that choice to do it.

Just like north Korea. No one is there propping them up making them stand. They just have to understand that if they don't stand there will be consequences. They have freedom to choose to stand and go along with the compulsory and coerced patriotism or face consequences.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
