Is this the most talented* Panthers team ever?

I mean you can pick and choose spots in time where we had more talent at any position(outside qb) where we had a more talented player, but I’m talking overall. Even then, the current talent makes the it competitive vs the all-time guys so I think this team rounds out as maybe the most talented.

This team is better than any team with fuging Terry Cousin and Todd Stuessie. WR are one of the best groups since Moose left the first time. Best QB, best RB, goddamn Moton might be the best T(looking at you Gross)

I was with you til you said moton might be better than gross... Gross manned the left side for a decade since day one. I have all the love in the world for that guy.

Let's put it this way, an autographed football from THIS roster will be worth more than any previous roster. The number of probowls and future HOF guys is impressive. For them to all be on the same team at the same time!?!

Where is the marketing department on this one? Imagine the ticket sales if the unicorn #89 dawned the jersey once more...

As a day one fan I know the Panthers best roster when I see it.

2013 team, if you count both offense & defense,

offense - steve smith, deanjelo, jstew, toldozer (not the super bowl one), olsen, lafell, ted ginn

defense had a charles johnson & greg hardy, even the backup DEs were nasty mario, wes, frank .... along with kuechly, davis,

also that team did not have shockey he only played once for the panthers 2011

IMO the 2003 team was more talented. If Smith and Moose were both on this Team in their 2003 form, they would start over any of our current receivers. Davis might start over CMC although CMC would play a lot. 2018 has a better QB and TE.  But the 2003 offense had more top to bottom talent. 2003 defense was better as well

Lafell was a strength? If i had to put him against the current wrs we have he is below Wright. I think Funchess is better than Lefell.

2003 was better at every position group except QB and maybe LB. Though Witherspoon is what we thought Shaq would be, and Morgan was a tackling machine. Davis and Foster were monsters in the backfield. Smitty, Muhammad and Proehl was and still is the best receiving corp this team has ever had.

    • Give me Anthony Hill Jr or give me death
    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
