6-3

The past few games we were all on cloud nine because of offensive efficiency. We got slapped in the mouth but that doesn’t mean we go fromcontender to garbage heap.

yes, all the power rankings and talking heads will have us go from top 5 to barely a playoff team, but that’s fine. Overreacting is what they get paid to do. I don’t know how many times as a panthers fan in California I have watched us play in prime time and get beat and had to listen to all the BS at work the next day, but at the end of the day there is still a very solid squad here.

The pick 6 was demoralizing and tough to come back from. We drove the ball down and scored in hostile territory and before you know it we are down 21-7. That’s not gonna happen on a regular basis.

Cheer up. We have a good football team.

That 03’ team was a damn good team. People may had say it was more an 8-8 team but no way. We were a very good 11-5 team and a SUPER BOWL. We were good, really good. We didnt just get lucky.

This 18’ team isnt very good. Offense is a playoff offense but the defense is holding us back.

It was a good team at the end of the year, but pull up YouTube and watch some of the old games... I did just recently... and you'll be surprised...  I certainly was... maybe b/c I was younger and with the hindsight of nostalgia and remembering how the season ended, but that team was not nearly the machine I has previously remembered them being.

Jake was hot & cold, the offense was not good for long stretches, and the defense was not super dominant but only in spurts.  What that team did great was play complementary football, and they were clutch.

Down 17 at halftime Week 1, went 3-1 in OT games, hit a lot of clutch FG's to win...  they certainly weren't dominant like the 2015 team was for the most part

Also, I can objectively say the talent level on that 2003 team was no better or worse than this year.  Better on defense, not as good on offense.  Still accomplished a lot.

Anyway, the point being, I haven't given up on this team still being good during the playoffs, and neither should you...

This team certainly needs defensive improvement to make it deep in the playoffs.

But changes certainly need to be made

Started 5-0 and had a 3 game losing streak.... 2003 was more pluckyness and luck than anything.

Saints get all of their tough games at home, Panthers get the steelers on 3 days and have to travel. got to love NFL schedule makers sometimes.

Not the schedule makers’ fault.

But regardless, looking at the schedule at the beginning of the year, we still had to go back to Minnesota after dropping two games there last year, we hadn’t beaten the Giants in New York/Jersey since 2006, we hadn’t beaten Baltimore period since 2002, all on top of having 3 separate instances of back-to-back road games including the back-to-back-to-back stretch beginning the week after Thanksgiving and ending Monday night in Charlotte. Oh and the gauntlet we just ran of @ Baltimore, @ Minnesota, vs. Rams. Not to mention having to play the same opponent twice in 3 weeks (you guys) for the second consecutive year, we played Atlanta twice in 3 weeks last year.

The Thursday night game against the Steelers, yeah. Blame away for that, but I can’t promise they’ll care. We’re still pissed at them about playing a Sunday night game then a Thursday night road game against you guys in 2014.

The NFL schedule makers hate us.... my other gripe is we always play a division rival on the road week 17.... screwjob.

Get in line. This year against y’all is our first one since 2013...

2014 - @ Tampa Bay

2015 - @ Atlanta

2016 - @ Atlanta

2017 - @ Tampa Bay

One thing that really sucks about this loss is we weren't getting talked about by the sports media, despite being 6-2. It's all about the Chiefs, the Saints, the Patriots, etc.

But after getting butt raped on a nationally broadcast game, we sure as hell won't be getting talked about now. We're right back to being the team that doesn't get taken seriously. Maybe that's a good thing, but this was supposed to have been a statement game. To let the rest of the NFL know we're for real, but we poo the bed AGAIN. I'm going to try and stay optimistic, though.

It’s overrated. We’re only being talked about since we signed Dez honestly. LOL.

We beat the undefeated Rams and they talked about it for like a half-day due to the Brady-Rodgers strokefest happening right after on SNF. And for that half-day, half was about what the Rams did to lose the game, not how we beat them. The other half was about Michael Thomas’ phone.

I here you but why should this matter?

Take the beat down.  Try to fix some things during the mini bye and get a win against Detroit.  As bad as it was, a 31 point loss and a 3 point loss mean the same thing.  Still lots of football to play.

Last night's game to me was a statement game of if the Panthers are contenders or pretenders. They win against a tough Steelers team on the road and they will prove they are for real and can win the division and make a deep playoff push. They lose  and they likely are a wild card team that will have to play every game on the road in the playoffs. Not exactly good for a team that cant win on the road.

    • It's just a talking head.  Talking about gambling. If anybody takes the under on 4.5 wins, they're most likely losing their money.   So he's only saying if you want to bet on a possible sleeper, take the over.  It's not rocket science.  Pathetic that so many on the huddle have reduced themselves to posting purely trash every time they hit the submit button.
    • I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario.  Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless.  ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team.  The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.
    • We screwed up a couple years ago taking Bryce in the first place.  Nobody held a gun to our head to jump from #9 to #1.  Most people who keep up with draft news knew this 2024 QB class was loaded and we should have waited, which I advocated. It was a dumb move and I knew it.  Now we have to roll with Bryce another year.  That's fine, because this 2025 class isn't that great.  I like Ewers, but not super high on him.  If Bryce shows improvement, which I think he will, that should get him at least one more season before we have to decide on if he's the permanent answer or not.  I've said before, the 2026 draft is the next window for a franchise QB if Bryce isn't the answer. Bryce gets this year and next at a minimum.
