its hurney's fault our D looked lost, our offense couldnt convert on third down, and funchess dropped 5 very catchable balls? this is one of the best rosters we've had in a few years, this thread is dumb

I agree.  I was thinking the coaching staff owed hurney an apology for pissing on his hard work.  We needed WRs he got us some damn good WRs, he got rid of worley, and got us jackson, we needed a safety, he got us reid which so many predicted would be a big win (still waiting here).

Sorry, but this team looked damn good on paper.  We're being out coached.

The draft appears to have gone fairly well this year.  Both Moore and Jackson are players, and maybe one or two of the others will be eventually.

I am still baffled by using a draft pick on a kicker, watching that kicker perform well, then shipping him off to KC and keeping the older and more expensive (and inconsistent)) Gano.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
