I swear people see what they want to see. and I don't mean about the game, I mean this forum.

This forum isn't full of Cam haters, and it's not full of Cam nuthuggers. You only pay attention to those who disagree with you so it skews your POV.

The truth is about 25% of this forum ride or die for Cam, by that I mean they never criticize him, it's always someone else's fault. And when Cam makes a blatant mistake, it's because of the load he has to carry (he's the franchise QB and MVP of course he has a heavy load) or because the coaches did something that make the mistake come about. But no, never Cam.

Then you have the 25% that are Cam haters, these are the one's that always pick at the smallest little mistake and blow it out of proportion. These are the one's that seem to have some sort of twisted glee when Cam throws a pick or we lose a game just so they can get on here and blame Cam. These are the one's that @thered not so subtle calls racist, and I sometimes agree and sometimes don't.

Then you have the 50% who are in the middle, who do their best to call balls and strikes as they see them, they're not always right, but they call them as they see them and hopes the best for Cam and the team. These are the one's that say today's loss was not on Cam, but he should have made that last throw. Rivera isn't a great coach, but he isn't terrible. And the season isn't over, but the division might be.

I keep seeing a ton of threads and posts deriding Cam regarding his accuracy, why "he keeps overthrowing recievers," and "fans" trying to get other fans to see things their way and blame him for our issues today...  He missed the throw on the two-point conversion.  Ok, got it.  But, his accuracy on the season was good for 6th in the league coming into this week, ahead of guys like Goff and Mahomes.  Furthermore, that 67.5 completion percentage today would've been higher than 75% had Funchess not dropped 4 or 5 perfectly thrown balls.  But, I don't see threads complaining about Funchess and why he played like a fuging bum who shouldn't be starting...  Luke was a huge reason why Kerryon Johnson was averaging over 8 ypc before being injured, but I don't see entire threads of people complaining and saying it's time to move on from him.  Gano had the worst day I believe a kicker has ever had in our franchise history, and aside from being mentioned to defend Cam's last throw, I don't see threads and innumerable posts saying how we need a new kicker.  And yet, without those guys setting the table they did with their horrible day, Cam is never put in the position to be forced to make that throw in a completely vanilla, non-creative play call against max coverage on a "chips all in" two-point conversion.

I'd just like to point out, again, that Cam put up a Top 5, league-MVP-contending performance with today's stat line.  Without Cam, we're never in that game, or any game.  And as most GOOD coaches would usually remind you after a game like that, a game never comes down to one play...  but, the subpar coach we are stuck with just blames it on Cam, because it's easier than being accountable for your team inexcusably showing up completely uninspired and unprepared two games in a row.

Gano was atrocious, Luke and the front four were just as bad, Bradberry was horrible, and Funchess better hope there's a hot market for a receiver with poor conditioning, habitual cramps, and hands of stone, because he is too inconsistent to ever garner real receiver money and I hope we don't bring him back.  Not to mention, this is the 4th game this season that the team came out completely lackadaisical and lost against a far lesser team on paper who was already without two of their better players coming in...  and coincidentally enough, this is the 3rd game this season where the opponent was supposedly extremely disadvantaged due to injuries coming in...  Atlanta lost Neal and Jones, Washington was without Thompson and Crowder.

There is a countless confluence of factors as to why this team sucks and why we lost today, and literally none of them are Cam or the pass he missed.  Place some blame on the actual culprits who put us in the position to need to go for two points in the first place...  there are plenty to choose from.  Thanks.

Cam gets a good bit of unwarranted hate in here...but if you’re suggesting that people in here haven’t been hating on Funchess, Gano, and even Luke after our loss, then I don’t think you’ve been keeping up with the forums today.

I see no reason sticking with Funchess after this year. Lock up Williams next year to go with Moton and maybe some competition in the middle and we will have a better team. Most of Cams problems are not placing his feet right after moving and that's solved with more time.

If you had to pick one head coach in the entire  league to be Cam's head coach,  who would you pick ?

I'd take Sean McVay without looking back.

But if we're being realistic, I would really hope we pick up Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma if we decide to drop Rivera. I mean, sure, he's getting heavy looks for going to the Cowboys if they move on from Garrett, but if we do move on from Ron, I think Riley will really love Carolina's situation offensively and turn this into a juggernaut.

“Worst game for a kicker in franchise history” and blaming Luke for the entire defenses ineptitude is reaching a little. Don’t ya think?

Didn't we not long ago have a thread declaring Gano to be the best Panthers kicker ever?

Now that was a stretch.

The Steelers head coaching searches tend to be highly methodical.  They don't just automatically go after the hot name.

And honestly, given that their philosophy tends to put a guy in charge for 15 to 20 years a pop, painstakingly making every effort to get it right makes a whole lotta sense.

making every effort to get it right could still very well lead you to a lincoln riley or a john defilippo. my point was that richardson was the type to dismiss those kinds of guys out of hand

I like DeFilippo, though my favorite choice would be Dan Campbell.

As others have said, it's valid that the GM has to be right too.  More often than not it's the GM who picks the head coach, not the owner. Steelers number two man Omar Khan is still the guy I think most likely gets targeted if we make a change.  That is unless some unforeseen miracle causes the Steelers to part ways with Kevin Colbert.

As to the coaches, there's nobody on the Steelers staff that interests me much as an HC, but there are one or two assistants I'd sure love to steal for equivalent roles here (Mike Munchak especially).

why dan campbell? is the thought that he'd run an offense similar to payton's?

cam with mccaffrey/moore/samuel would set the league on fire in a sean payton offense but i don't really remember what those dolphins games looked like when campbell took over.

Campbell because I've been reading up on him and love what I hear.  More than a few folks think the Dolphins should have given him a longer look (Adam Gase isn't exactly setting the world on fire).

Campbell is a Bill Parcells protege so balls and toughness aren't likely to be an issue.  He's also considered a very good offensive mind, and he's already had head coaching consideration.  I've listened to a couple of interviews he's given and I can see why.

The Saints gave the "assistant head coach" title to a tight end coach for a reason.  They want to keep him, though I think even they know they ultimately can't.
