Long Shot Idea for QB

Here is what I would like to see happen.

Panthers pick up Kaepernick as a back up.  He has an arm just like Cam, is as mobile as Cam and has been to the Super Bowl like Cam ( not relevant but I added it anyway)

IF we : Trade Cam  we have I think the best QB available as next years draft class is weak at QB from what I've been told

IF Cam: gets surgery on his shoulder and is expected to miss games into next season then we have a guy that can run the same style of offense we have right now without Panthers having

to change much as plays to suit the new QB.

Bonus:  Kaepernick can be had for league minimum or under 5 million for say 2 years.

Can we ban all the trade Cam/look for a new starting QB threads? People are idiots. Our 29 year old franchise qb will be fine next season. I swear I have never seen a fan base switch from saying cam should be in the mvp race 4 weeks ago to trade him after his shoulder injury got worse

If we trade Cam Newton it will be for his own benefit. There is no potential trade partner who would be willing to give us the compensation he is worth with an injured shoulder. The mods or someone needs to put the kibosh on this once and for all.

The only solution is to bring in a new head coach capable of actual offensive innovation and mostly importantly, accountability. We don't need another players coach. We don't need another zombie to stare off into the abyss on gamedays and then drone on like it's all someone else's fault in front of the cameras after the game.

I think the same thing about CK as I did when he was having great success in SF.  

Cam Newton is and was as SIGNIFICANTLY better player who was asked to do significantly more things on the field than CK.   Cam and CK have different games.  They play different.   There mobility is different.  There arms are different. 

I've never endorsed intentionally getting worse at an important position.  Especially, the most important position.

I’m not saying we need to look for a new “starting” QB but we absolutely 100% need to seriously look at QBs on day 2 of the draft. Cam’s shoulder is a question mark and we have nothing behind him right now. Plus as much as people want to ignore it, Cam is getting up there in age and not ever QB plays into their late 30s. I think Cam can and hope he does but you can’t rely on that. We absolutely need to draft a QB to groom and develop behind Cam to be backup or if necessary step in.

If a man built like Cam Newton is struggling to survive behind our patchwork OL, I don't know why some of you think some green rookie is going to magically fix things.

We are getting absolutely worked in the trenches right now. We could draft a QB on day 1 and day 2 and it still won't change that.

Hope you are right that he is OK--another surgery leaves questions.

No thank you, never liked Kaepernick as a QB.  While the light has made him into a superhero, squidward was a douche off the field (I think about him wearing the dolphins hat right after the 9ers dumped a truckload of money in his lap), and frankly I always thought sucked on the field (as he was always a 1 read QB).  Cam is elite when healthy, Kaepernick is basically just a more veteran version of Dak prescott and I'll pass on that.
