Sure would be nice to have a competent backup that would allow Cam to get his shyt together.

Guess if we had a competent GM then we wouldn’t have gone into the season with Taylor Heineken backing up a wh coming off shoulder surgery.

We’  a fuggin train wreck

*Backing up a QB.

I drowned my sorrows in Tito’s handmade vodka post game this the typos

Because he is a clearly injured, former MVP who is 29 years of age. They don’t grow on trees.

and who has taken a hellava beating over the last 8 years. most of it NFL sanctioned. sure, I have no proof, but any real Panther fan has seen the way Cam has been treated over the years. And now Ron is doing the same to save his job. If I were Mr. Tepper? I'd fire Rivera at noon today.

I’m the biggest Cam nut hugger out there.  Hell I’ve lost friends over it.  I’ve argued with family to the point that it’s screwed with our relationships.

But at this point I’ve realized that Cam is not a winning QB.  He doesn’t have the X factor.  Healthy or not, Cam has not had what it takes to come though in the clutch.  This pains  to say as I’ve defended him endlessly for years.  But it’s time to move on.

The fact that you willingly go on a message board to admit you’ve lost family and friends over Cam Newton is laughable.

Only to then make an incredibly reactionary, ill-informed point.

if i was tepper i woulda walked into the presser and publicly fired rivera when he said he won't sit him.  i'd have put my hand on his shoulder, said 'look at me ron, both eyes, you're fired.'   then i woulda had security put his belongings i was having packed down right in front of him and all the cameras. 'gentleman, please escort mr rivera out of the building.'

Cam has been getting banged up the last few years late in the season. I was not a huge fan of his but I have to believe the shoulder injury has played a part in his drop off the last 5 games. I can’t remember when he took the BIG hit to that shoulder.

The medical staff and RR should have realized he can’t go 100%. I feel the backup should have been given a shot in some of the game sto see what he could do.

The bad shoulder cost Cam last night for sure when we had a great chance to dump Saints and stay in the hunt.

When Delhomme fell off the edge of the map nobody was afraid to admit it nor were there many people here defending the indefensible play he gave us.  Why is is so difficult to see that Cam may be done and it may be time to move on ?

With a straight face,.. you are going to compare Jake to Cam?

jake had his moments but he also had Steve Moose Deangelo and Stewart,.. and a much better offensive line, Jordan Gross, Kalil and the gang.

Cams never had a decent offensive line except maybe 2011 to 2013.

I'm not gonna argue the talent. But Jake had heart and he was a better manager.  Jake had 7 years just like Cam. He took us to the SB and an NFC championship. He laid an egg against Arizona after Tommy John. Jake isnt chopped liver. Actually he had more playoff success. I know I'd pick Cam over Jake...but Jake was a great leader before he got hurt. Cam is more talented physically. Jake was a better leader.

I cant deal with you kind of fans. We literally used to win games with Jake throwing 4 picks and less than 100 yards. You cant compare QBs that are tasked with winning a game vs QBs tasked with no losing a game

How did Jake play in the SB? I'm not saying I'd take Jake over Cam..but I'd take a young Jake back in a heartbeat if Cam doesnt work out.

Because his coaches haven't done him any favors playing him hurt. Dude's not done and the minute we get rid of him and he has more success with better coaches you and the other naysayers are gonna be wishing him back like y'all did Ted Ginn Jr. and others. Be careful what you wish for.
