No point in firing him now besides pleasing the fans. Strategically tho there really is no point. Expect this whole staff gone by the end of January.

This,

if it was going to happen it would have happened two weeks ago. Firing him now with two weeks to go is stupid and won’t help start any process or do anything. Panthers still have 1 more home game and probably don’t want to have the stadium empty

Panthers coach Ron Rivera didn't exactly sound like a coach who has been given a vote of confidence by owner David Tepper for next season during Tuesday's press conference Asked if he hates questions about his future, Rivera said: “Absolutely, because I don't know. I've been through it a couple of times my first two seasons. But at the end of the day it comes down to one person, and that's the only one that knows.'' When asked if he wants to be back, Rivera responded: “That is a stupid question. That really is, and I'm not going to answer that one. I'm very happy where I am. I do appreciate my place here on this football team and in this city and in this community.''

Actually I think there might be. While the season is all but lost because we have a .0000001% chance to get into the playoffs, I think it would send a clear message to the players on the team, and ones we will pursue in FA and the draft, that the days of family run organization is over for good. Business is business and needs to be treated as such. Do your job, or you will be shown the door.

I think that is pretty much understood by everyone in the building.  Those that do not will learn soon enough.  If it takes someone getting fired to motivate them the they are not worth keeping.

    • I'm the ultimate beleiver the Panthers going to win every game!!  Been that way since we got team.  Was Redskin fan but when Mr Richardson got team was fan for life!! Got this even befor we got team!!
    • I'm not saying he's a bust from that one game (even though I hated the pick) Kon is a backup SG that comes in and stands in the corner and occupies a defender at worst.  I agree even if Kon is the above the team probably ends up with  Kalkbrenner - starting center that needs to add strength to be most effective but has a good skill set.  McNeeley - high upside shooter with good create ability that plays relentlessly.  Kon - Another high upside shooter with less create ability and less motor.  James - high upside 3&D guy    That's not a bad draft at all considering they already had Ball and Miller who can drive and create.
    • This is the best this kid could come up with? Yikes. At least go after the obvious limbo teams like MIA/PIT/etc.
