as someone who's dad is going thru cancer treatment right now this is very emotional for me... I hope he goes out there and kicks some ass today.

Prayers with you.  FWIW, I survived cancer twice.  Chemo, radiation, etc.  Most people do these days.  It is always dangerously nerve racking, but the treatments are much more effective now than they were 20 years ago.  In other words, have hope.
