D.J. Swearinger?

Man, hell yes.  Isn't he a local guy too?  I wanted us to go after him in FA once the biggest names were gone last year...

Hurney definitely needs to get on it man...  keep Reid, sign Swearinger...  they're both more SS than FS, but he's a significant upgrade over Adams, who is done.

Had more interceptions than anyone on our team , and should have made the pro bowl.  Would be an incredible addition

He did make the pro bowl. He said he is going to try and wear a gamecocks uniform since he’s no longer on a team if they allow him to play.

He's a dawg, similar to Jackson but with experience. He isn't a pure cover ball-hawking safety, but he isn't a pure in-the-box safety like both Adams and Reid appear to be. He's actually perfect for this defense where they are interchangeable. A physical and smart field manager, and a vocal leader in the locker room. Plus he's not gonna break the bank - probably less per year than Torrey Smith. And... he's from SC and even played college ball in Columbia. This is a no-brainer.

That is my impression.  And character matters.  The last thing any locker room needs. And our Safeties would get taxes back they would be fined so much.

Couple things:

1) He had more INTs this season than anyone on our team.

2) He will be in the Pro Bowl.

3) Somebody else already looked it up. He only had two penalties this season.

4) He likes zone. We do that here.

5) It's the Redskins... They sign dudes who hit women but you can't call out the coaching for playing man when zone would have been their best bet?

CJ was literally in the process of rushing for all those yards as Ron was at the podium talking about how they had to find a way to reduce CMC's workload. Ron's reasoning for releasing CJ was to get CAP more opportunities. CAP has touched the ball exactly twice all season and CMC has taken 100% of the RB snaps most weeks since CJ's release.

CJ signed here knowing he wasn't going to to be the lead back, but he's just another example on a long list of players who weren't properly utilized by Ron and his staff. Usually that's exposed through injury, but this time it was exposed by releasing him.

Just move this team to St. Louis already. Man if tepper does nothing I almost think he's a puppet or placeholder for JR. I didn't know CJ did this until yesterday afternoon. This has been top 3 worst seasons we've had. Def worse than 06. This team had everyone fooled

Good to know.  My impression was not accurate.  It just seems that he has been a problem for a long time.    I am a Gamecock, so I was trying to be objective.  If  we keep Reid, is that bad chemistry?  I also worry about his price tag.

I'm like a bunch of people here. I haven't seen him play much and while I know he has 5 ints I was under the impression he played the same position as Reid. If not, it would seem like smart business to get a 27 year old safety in his prime who finished this year 11th according to PFF for Safeties. I also don't know how bleak we our when it comes to salary cap.

He’s relatively cheap for 2019, would have a full offseason to acclimate with us.

And he’s better than anything we have.

nothing to lose by picking him up.

it won’t happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hurney has been instructed not to make any moves for his and Ron’s impending departure.

or who knows. We won’t know until next week for sure.

If he criticized their coaching, just wait until he gets a load of ours

Funny, funny! You guys are hard!

Although change may be in order, let me say again, no coach in the league is going to win if the players are turning the ball over left and right, especially INTs in the red zone. It's just not going to happen.
