Don’t bother. He’s got a thing for trying to say Moton isn’t a LT. He says he wasn’t move me there in week 17 proving it even though he played LT with Williams at RT in preseason through week 1 when Williams got hurt again. There’s articles linked in the other thread talked about the reasoning with Clark yet this guy has now posted in multiple other threads. Sort of a hoping more people see his post and believe it. Almost as bad as Sanjay and the 2 TEs.

Oh, @ncfan the “experts” @juliosantos mentioned is who @panthers55 replied to above.

well he isn't a LT he is a RT at the moment...that's the reality ...and when we resign Williams he will be an OG...

Not really

It was warranted by his play

Was a Stud RT.  True the probowl can be Skewed by fan votes etc.  But All Pro teams do Not.  So his 2nd team All-Pro is the telling part of his play, not the probowl

He didnt make the Pro Bowl

Frankly, I'd rather us get a bonafide LT in the draft or even an eventual replacement for Kalil in 3-4 round of and leave Moton @ RT. I think Moton can excel on the right side and the more continuity and stability on the OL the better IMO.

Quality starting OTs don't exactly grow on trees. Our utter floundering at OT in the post-Gross era clearly illustrating this.

I'm surprised that so many fans seem to think that letting Williams walk is no big deal after watching guys like Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, Mike Remmers, Matt Kalil, Chris Clark, etc. start a lot of games at OT for the Panthers.

There are only two ways that we can fathomably let Williams walk. One, if some team is willing to pay him like an elite LT. Nope, you can't do that. Two, if the medical team is red flagging his knee. That's it. I'm of the firm opinion that you draft guards and you pay tackles.

Oh, JFC, get the hell out of here with the guard crap. He’s a tackle. He can play any side we want him to and do it well. He’s on the opposite side of whoever our other tackle will be, Williams or a rookie.

the reality doesn't sit well with you does it...not if Williams returns...

Saw that

Im really starting to think he is a sanjay alt with his need for attention and starting 100 threads.

@panthers55is titled to his opinion and can see where he gets his point of view.   But there has been no hard evidence that our staff doesnt like Moton there, in fact they had some pretty glowing remarks when he was over there.  Remember @Jeremy Igoeven creating a thread so excited that we may have finally found our LT that we have been missing since gross

Im sure he'll test the waters.  And good for him, cant ever fault the guy.  But bet he is going to get sticker shock on his value and probably come back here imo

Hope youre right, because having him back would be ideal, and he deserves a fair price.  It can be crazy what teams can offer money wise though and I wouldnt want to be in some bidding war.

Not me. I’d rather resign Williams if healthy and get a stud C/G in the 2nd. Stud tackle would likely be our 1st. We need a lot in the draft so it would be nice to fix a big hole in FA. Having an OL of Moton, stud rookie, Larsen, Turner and Williams is a pretty good OL if healthy.

This

Lock down William's and you have 2 anchors outside at OT.  Then you can find quality starters in the 3rd at interior OL

Dude stop trolling. Anyone thinking that a team with no other real tackles right now would take a tackle ranked in the top 10-15 and make him a guard and actually believes it is a moron. I’ll give you the benefit of trolling.

sorry if you don't like it...its like a tree falling in the woods...not trolling at all...not a moron at all...

I see zero chance that Taylor Moton is playing OG for us next year. No way a tackle poor team is playing a proven starting caliber NFL OT at OG. Not even Rivera is that dumb with his depth chart decisions.

I see it if Williams come back...I see Kalil coming back and playing another season at LT...but this is why we draft 2 OT this draft...several are there that can play multiple positions...

If this happens I'm done with the Panthers until Tepper wakes up and clean house. It would be absolutely indefensible stupidity.

I fully expect Williams to accept a good contract from us. If another team is will to pay top RT money then that's their mistake born out of desperation. Be careful when it comes to what you think of our linemen based on this season. We basically went Pickles checkdown crazy with short passes, so guys will look like better pass blockers. A successful Cam led Panthers needs the deep ball, and the linemen who can pass block at a high level.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
