How about Batum, Frank, Monk and a protected first round pick to Washington for Porter?  Porter could play small forward or power foward for us.  He would be a huge upgrade for either position.

wudnt give up monk for him - but Batum and Frank and a few 2nd rounders.. Porter's deal is one of the only contracts worse than Batum's..

I like this trade for the Knicks.

Dennis Smith can obviously ball and he has a chance to show that the rest of the season.

This also opens up so much cap space for the Knicks where they are probably going to land a big time free agent if not two (i.e. Kevin Durant and Kemba Walker). They also will have a strong shot at the #1 pick in the draft.

If things go as planned for them they could be looking at a nucleus of Smith Jr., Zion, Knox, and KD, and Kemba with Ntilikina, Trier, Dotson, Mudiy, and Robinson making up a strong bench.

Not to mention the two future first round picks they will be getting. The Knicks just expedited their rebuild tenfold.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
