Well i had a good run...I had this name since joining this forum in 2003. Through the SB run, NFC CHampionship run, a few mediocre seasons. Jake has been good too us, and let us not forget that in his decline and future departure from our team.

Now how do I change my name? Do I really need to create a new account?

Don't change it. Yes, Jake is horrible right now but that doesn't change what he accomplished in past seasons. You would never know it by the way I spoke to him through my TV screen yesturday but I still respect Delhomme and really hope that fans will remember him not based on 2009 but on his entire body of work.

Same thing with Fox. Delhomme will not be the last pro bowl player to decline while playing in Carolina and Fox will not the only great coach to get fired. Keep the name, wear it with pride and curse Jake's name in every post until the end of the season.

Well, there's a few ways to handle this.

You can wait until we clinch a top 3 pick in the draft. In a hail of nerd-scorned fury over the fact that the 49ers get our pick, the server will undoubtedly crash and you can start over fresh with a new name.

You could use your description under your name to indicate that your opinions have changed, and state who IS CURRENTLY "the man."

Personally, I'd just nut up and live with it. It's a throwback to the days when the Panthers were a contender and Delhomme was "the man." It's an antique, it memorabilia, it's a nostalgia piece. Just like I won't throw away my Delhomme jersey. He may not be "the man" on the field anymore, but he is still the man. He got us to a Super Bowl and an NFC championship. He still has a top 10 win percentage. He should never take another snap in his life, but during his hey-day he was the best thing to happen to this franchise in a long time. Just because he has struggled mightily and is killing us presently, don't just go out and destroy any proof that he ever existed and was special to us. You can't revise history.

Don't be an iconoclast. Keep the name.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
