I’d only trade back if our guys are gone. We “could” get a special player at 16. Hopefully, we do.

There is definitely a line where we should try and trade back. Wonder what Chicky would give us 24 and 27 for 16 and 77? Use one and use the other to drop to top of 2nd for an extra 2 or 3.

I still want to take Simmons and that trade would make that a possibility. Crazy talk...lol

Based on what we saw today, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Simmons available at 47. Do you take him there? We are kind of a win now mode but getting two top 15 guys might be worth the wait.

I run to the podium. With a gun. Last Boy Scout-style. I wouldn’t care if we already picked Wilkins. If a team offered you a 2020 1st, with a top 15 player attached, for 47, you would absolutely take it. Any GM that doesn’t isn’t doing what’s best for the organization. Which is the problem with “win or else” ultimatums.

This is how you take care of an expensive position for a couple of years and get rid of the 18M contract.

This Draft is setting up to be 1 of the most intriguing drafts in quite some time. Yes, absolutely sucks we won that meaningless week 17 game. That said we are in a decent position to come out of this Draft with as good of a Draft as we could hope for. Don't screw this up Marty!

Just saw some numbers including the cone with Clelin Ferrell. Didn’t run the 40. He’s disappointed me a bit I thought he would test better.

Good. It was probably the only shot we had at him. Ferrell, Sweat, and Wilkins were the three guys I didn't need to see anything from. Unfortunately Sweat showed out.

Winovich is becoming more and more intriguing as a 2nd round prospect. Look at his numbers compared to his hyped up teammate Gary. I can see him work well since we need a guy who can cover and get his hands in the dirt if we don’t go pass rush in the first round.

I want that dude.  I could handle watching his motor on Sundays.

Well our needs line up with the strengths of this draft. There is no reason to not come out of it with 2 starters and 2 more who could quickly work their way into the starting line up during the year. I have my fingers crossed that Hurney has really turned the corner after last years draft.

OL, DL, LB....if the DB's perform well tomorrow, we could really be able to fill some needs.

Can’t wait to see the big boards after this weekend.  Gonna be some crazy moving up and down that board.

Which makes no sense since they were the same players yesterday as they are today. But it will happen. I wish I had. dropped Jarvis Jones off a cliff after his pitiful combine. But I doubled down and am still picking crow out of my teeth.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
