Willing to Trade Down?

Recommended Posts

With the Dolphins trading Tannehill to the Titans puts us in an interesting situation with Miami selection 17.

You never know how this draft will sort its way out.  But if one of the decent QBs fall to #16 we could be in a position to trade our pick away and pick up an additional pick maybe even a 2020 1st rounder.

Would you be willing to trade down to a lower 20ish pick and get more picks?

What would you consider if you were Hurney?

Did I miss something?

Doesn't the Dolphins have the 13th pick?

Generally speaking since the draft is deep at our positions of need, trading down makes sense. However, if an elite DE is there you have to take him.

I say we work with Cleveland to get Ogbah and then the pressure is really off and just take best available.

I don't think that a guy with 12.5 sacks over the past three years is going to do much to take away from our need for pass rushers.

Totally agree, but getting a guy that is a serviceable starter would keep us from having to reach in the first round if say 5-6 edge guys go before we pick. It's not likely but it is possible.

I love Brian burns, but If he is the only top edge left does he fit our system? Also, I think Ferrell is overrated at 16 and rashan gary is a very boom or bust selection. Could be great, but hia production in college is mediocre for a guy with his athleticism. We need a sure thing. That's bosa, Allen, sweat and burns.

Ferrell has some red flags as does Gary as first rounders and burns may not fit our scheme. Those first two are fine later in the first, imo.

I'd prefer to take Charles omeniure (sp?) If he's available in the 2nd round.

Depends.  Let's say we have 3 players on top of our board of relatively equal value---for example, Cody Ford (T), Brian Burns (DE/OLB), and Jachai Polite (DE/OLB).  Does not  matter how you  have these players rated--that would be missing the point.  Then yes, make  the trade.

Agree all three of those guys are great players but a little rich at 16 to me. Polite and burns may not be great fits at 4-3 end and Ford seems more a guard to me. I don't want to spend a 16 pick on a guard. If we knew he was a sure fire tackle then yes, draft him. Some risk though

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
