Taylor- Would confirm Moton to LT, Taylor has never played LT either.  And was kept on the Right side by Florida's staff for a reason even when their LT wasnt good.

Devin White- either a smoke screen or Hurney really is a fanboy of LBs.  With going to a 3-4 you really only need 2 LBs vs 3 on the field.  Retaining Shaqs 5th year and drafting 2 last year.  Dont see it happening.  Oh, also Rivera's big pet Peeve with LBs has always been their ability in coverage.  While White is a good athlete, his coverage ability has been his biggest weakness.

Wilkins- would make sense with the 3-4. Versatile, played DE to start at Clemson.  Would immediately fill that hole as a 3-4 DE for the panthers.

Burns- not the first time someone on this board with a "source" has mentioned our staff likes Burns.  He is a glue fit for our Defense

For a strictly 4-3 defense it may be tough to take him.

Ive seen a few writers say they like him more than Josh Allen.  Just overall versatility.  He may be the best edge rusher OLB as far as his drop back in coverage since Kalil Mack came out.  He has excellent bend.  The only concern people had on him was size, but he came in at 250 to the combine which is more than enough for a OLB.  So any other scheme besides a traditional 4-3. He is well worth the top 15 pick

I can respect that. But when he's matched up against top tackles he's been a ghost. He's certainly a specimen though.

He's mainly been a ghost this past year 

And that goes back to my first point.  That for a traditional 4-3 you may not like him that high.

 

This past season wasnt his best due to a scheme change.  He came to FSU recruited as a OLB in Jimbo's 3-4, and he looked like a monster in it.  This new staff moved to a strictly 4-3. So him in his 235 playing frame that he was still at from the year before struggled to fit the new scheme.  He kinda looked like Marquise Haynes did for the panthers this year and pushed around.

He is best off the edge as a OLB where he can use that versatility like Von Miller or Mack.  Either drop in coverage or fire off the edge.  

Actually speaking of Miller.  Burns first 2 seasons started off better(both playing 3-4 OLB) year 3 is when Miller blew up.  Burnsmoved to a new scheme that didnt fit him well and his stats didnt jump.

 

Years 1 and 2 for Miller at A&M

Fresh: 2.5 Sacks 4 TFL

Soph: 3.5 sacks 7.5 TFL

 

Burns

Freshman: 8.5 Sacks 9.5 TFL

Sophomore: 4.5 Sacks 13.5 TFL

 

Miller blew up his junior season while Burns switched to the new scheme that he wasnt recruited or fit for.

But

Von Miller 

Senior season: 10.5 sacks 17.5 TFL

Burns

This past season in new scheme: 10.5 sacks 15.5 TFL

 

They both played at 235 at the same position (minus Burns this past year). And both came into the combine at 250

That's what concerns me. But there are very few sure thing picks so we need to roll the dice anyhow. Hurney has a good track record in the 1st so I'm optimistic.

2 completly different players

Bosa the more traditional 4-3 DE, hands in dirt bigger guy.

 

Burns stand up more athletic rusher/LB like Miller and Mack were coming out.

Mack, Miller and Burns all played at around 235 in college as edge Linebackers who bulked up to 250 at the combine
