If we're in win now mode then we find a way to get this deal done. Even if we overpay. I want to see this organization show us they're serious about another superbowl run.

New owner new mindset there’s a potential chance for his first let’s spend money to make a impact moment I could see things heating up for us bc with that kind of dominant front and out rushers shttttt.

I don't see Tepper allowing this with his long background with the Steelers. That team is always competitive in large part because they refuse to put themselves in bad cap situations by overpaying players, even elite players. See: Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.

You're probably right, Tepper is a businessman after all. But 2015 was lightning in a bottle, we aren't the Steelers. If we keep nibbling around the edges we're just going to waste two HOF players in their prime.

In my opinion of course.

At some point you gotta say "its time to win".  We aren't the Patriots with Tom Brady who can sit back there as a pocket passer until he is 62, and that alone keeps them relevant.

As much as I love Cam, he isn't going to have that sorta longevity.  While I truly believe he is a great QB, his designed run mobility is a huge asset that compensates for his throwing..that while good.  isn't great.  For Cam to stick around as long as Brees, Brady, etc, he'd also have to be basically a pure pocket passer.  And that just isn't who Cam is.

I also feel we can make sure McCoy is well compensated while not destroying our future.

That's why I don't think he'll allow it. He knows that your best bet to win a SB or multiple SBs is to continually be competitive year in and year out as opposed to loading up to throw a haymaker every now and then.

We also have a lot of contracts coming off the books pretty soon, in fairness.

Free agent DT Gerald McCoy’s visit to the #Ravens has essentially ended, though his agent and the Baltimore brass will now speak to see if they can do a deal. At this point, it’s #Browns or #Ravens for McCoy. If the price isn’t right, McCoy could visit a third team.

This is the NFL, the "Not For Long" league. It's always "time to win". But you don't build a consistent winner with knee jerk decisions or by signing aging vets to cap flexibility limiting contracts.

I'd love to have McCoy at the right price on the right contract, but with the Ravens and Browns both in hot pursuit I just doubt that it's in the cards.
