Yeah I wouldn’t IR him. If he’s not ready by the IR designated to return list date I’d cut him and take chances with Slye

There is no generic IR return date. The date is established when the player is placed on IR.

So could wasting one of two designate to return. I’m actually a fan of gano as far as kickers go he gives you something not too many kickers in the league can give. But that knee is not right, soreness like this doesn’t last over a month. I think it’s something serious and that is more worrisome to me then going with Slye unfortunately. It’s definitely a tricky situation.

You do realize we wouldn't have to designate him until midseason, right?  So if Slye looks good then we wouldn't be wasting a return, we could release him then.

Releasing him now without knowing how Slye will do in regular season would be a stupid thing to do.

here's another report that it may happen.

Hearing from sources that #Panthers kicker Graham Gano’s knee injury doesn’t seem to be getting better and that this could be a situation where the team puts him on IR early, in hopes of getting him back later in the season. #keeppounding

We would have to keep Gano on the roster when we cut to 53 on Saturday.

We’d have to bump someone off the 53. Hope they clear waivers. Depending on what player were risking I could give a better opinion. I still stand with the knee not being right for over a month is a major cause for concern.

I should have specified more clearly, but with the return designation added is what I was referring to. You only get two, anyone who knows anything about the Panthers knows their history with IR and learning from mistakes. Let's leave it at that.

Wtf does this even mean lol

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
