London travel company collapses leaving some NFL fans with no tickets, no refunds

Hoping this doesn't affect any of our folks.

Don't know anything about how the travel co will affect Panthers fans, but I did hear on lthe news last night that with the Brexit stuff going  on in the UK - plane ticket prices to London have dropped about 25% in the last few months.

From what I've read, it's a company named Thomas Cook. The company folded and people who had purchased travel packages and tickets through them are now SOL.

The NFL is apparently not being especially helpful.

SOL meaning they were refunded and lost their tickets....or lost their $$$ as well?

$$$ is gone, they have the ability to re-purchase the tickets though....so they got that going for them.

(who am I kidding, I may be one of them)

It means you should check your booking immediately and if it involved Thomas Cook you might well be screwed. Email the address on their website but don't hope for much. 

If not (and I really hope the Riot aren't affected), I'll see you in London!

Just called stub hub to check on mine, they didn't seem to have an issue, but I wasn't sure if they bought blocks from them or not.  So far so good.

If the NFL partnered with Thomas Cook to help simplify the travel and help with ticket acquisition to fans then I do think they have some skin in the game.

If Thomas Cook originally bought the tickets from the NFL for resale, then the NFL could quite easily offer to guarentee the tickets for people that  have proof of purchase from TC.

Even if they were reserved through Thomas Cook, the NFL could offer them for free to the people that bought the tickets through TC. What else are the NFL going to do with the tickets other than show empty seats in their flagship NFL London games on TV??

Obviously they can't do anything about travel packages, but they could definitely guarentee the tix.
