Is Allen a legit starting qb

So Allen hasn’t lost as a starter. Cockrell is 2-0 for us starting in place of Jackson. We better keep him as the starter when Jackson gets healthy right??? I mean the team hasn’t lost with him starting....

So you'd rather be 0-5?

one thing i think we should all agree on is that if we don't get better play from the o-line and have to run max protect all the time, its gonna be just about impossible for any qb to play really well against a good D

You missed the point. When a better player is hurt and the team wins with their backup, (unless the backup is a major factor is these wins) you don’t keep the better player on the bench when he gets healthy. As of right now a healthy Cam is a better player than Allen. If Cam gets healthy and yes I said IF, then he should get his job back if Allen keeps playing like this.

And dont forget undefeated without Trai and Short and hmmmmm.....wow just MAYBE the TEAM is finding ways to come together and win games with all the injuries and it aint just the backup QB.

i don't know forjimmy.  he'll get killed behind this line.  i don't want to see it. i'd wait for trai and greg to get back before i put him in.  the pass blocking was pitiful and cam is tough.  he'll wait til the last second for something to pop.  if he comes back i wanna, we need to see him behind a competent line.   my opinion

he made 2 very important throws to moore today in crunch time.   i know y'all love cam, but wanting to see him behind this line is crazy

A 100% healthy Cam that can run would hide the oline's issues like he has his entire career as a Panther.

Kyle is winning for now though, so let's just be happy the team has a really good backup QB.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
