Shelter: Cam ready to practice after bye week; injury healed well

Panthers’ QB Cam Newton’s foot injury has healed well and he is expected to be ready to practice after the team’s bye this week, per league source. Panthers have said they will make a QB determination when Newton is healthy; that looks to be coming soon.

---------------------------------------------------

"....per league source."

3 options for the "source":

1.   Someone w/in the Panthers.

2.  Someone unaffiliated with Panthers or Cam.

3.  Cam or someone he authorized to leak the info.

Option 1 seems illogical --- nothing to be gained for any Panthers employee for leaking such information.  Also, the way those two underlined parts sequence it indicates the "source" is separate from the Panthers.

Option 2 seems illogical  --- the Panthers & Cam have both had this thing on Double Secret Lockdown.  Cam has proven he is incredibly private so unlikely anyone on the outside knows what is up w/ him.

Option 3 seems logical --- Cam's camp has broken a serious sweat and their sense of urgency has heightened dramatically w/ QB7 continuing to win.  He's baaaack!  (but is he really healthy)

I can't wait until Riverboat's next press conference!

How about I just go ahead and poo your post. He ain't never going to be the Cam that he used to be. Panthers will lose alot of fans if they go back to him.

If they lose fans then those fans were poo to begin with and you don’t need to argue that poo because it’s facts. The coaching staff knows more then you or any other fan ever will do if they go with Cam and you peace out don’t act like you didn’t have another agenda especially if he lights it up and you’re still pissy

so y'all want a 30 yo qb with a repaired shoulder and foot issues who can't even get the plays called on time when he doesn't run, to come in and run and then get the next play out on time, all the while not getting hurt.  y'all think '15 cam can come back - at 30 - and play like that again?   and you say you like cam?   and i'm guessing you want him to stay healthy.   i don't think that's how this works.   him staying healthy means getting the ball out fast and accurate with his 1st read if its there, knowing where to go with the ball before the snap, throwing the ball away if nothing is there... and not holding the ball to the last sec waiting for something to pop and taking a giant hit.    it also means not taking on lb's and de's head on.   it means playing a lot more like allen than '15 cam.

Well even if he is just pre injury last year Cam, He is better than Allen.  The dude was putting up more yards, completing a higher pct, with Devin Funchess as his starting WR, playing tougher defenses

....Soooooo

Really? Tougher defenses in the first 6 games, (even though Allen started the last 4) please do tell how the sh1tty teams Cam dominated had tougher defenses? Redskins sucked and still do and that was a loss, Giants suck and but Gano bailed us out of all people.. Bengals, Falcons, Eagles, Cowboys? Looks like a list of sh1t if ya ask me.

As weapons are concerned, they were all here last year and the first 2 games this year... hell there's been more injuries and shuffling on both sides of the ball recently than ever.

Why are we winning games on the road with a backup QB, a different LT each week (reshuffled OL), A DL that is actually better without KK (see Butler), A secondary that is patched together each game... a rookie FG Kicker... RR is actually pretty damn good at time management... over the past 4 weeks we've won 4 games, 3 on the road by at least 6 points, wins are up, turnover margin is up, sacks are up, PPG and YPG are up...it goes on and on.

Hopefully this BS is behind us and we continue the trend, next man up without excuses or individual glory. Because, the guy most everyone expected to fail was PERFECT for the job and stepped up to the opportunity, WE'RE fuging 4-2!

A UDFA has set the standard,  but surely a #1 pick and former MVP, whos 100 % healthy can easily exceed those of a nobody. This team has won 4 straight because of CMC and the defense, so if and when Cam returns ...

I’m not advocating him playing vs SF.  I think Allen should go there.  I want Cam returning vs Tenn and proving the dual threat is back and healthy then.  If he can’t prove he is healthy vs Tenn then I think you go back to Allen.

Why? Because if Allen wins another game/road gams against an undefeated opponent, it pretty much sets the stage for the rest of the season.

Pretty sure... or hoping he's wants to play at SF, hopefully he knows he's in a battle.

If the coaching staff decides not to go with Cam how will you feel about them?

Same way. But you are one of the people who would rather have a Tom Brady type player (ie white) vs Cam (ie not white).

lots of people are showing their true colors rooting against either Allen or Cam and it’s beyond asinine

Why? I want the Panther to win games. I think Allen gives us the best odds vs San Fran because Cam hasn’t even been on a practice field or thrown a ball in weeks and we don’t know how healthy he is.

When Cam proves to be healthy and be Cam? I’ll support him taking over regardless of how many wins we got with Allen.

It isn’t complicated IMO.

Then when the season is over we can talk about what is smart going forward based on how things play out.

stop, you're cheapening the word racist with this, diluting it, and making it meaningless.    most all of those folks who brigaded this forum last year are gone.

You absolutely have to play Allen in the 49ers game to see what we TRULY have in him. We won’t win that game with a rusty, just coming off injury Cam. A. It gives game one more week to heal and B. It lets us see exactly what we have in Allen against arguably the best team in the league right now or one of the best
