Rodrigue jist piggy backed off what was already reported.  Nothing new.

Her story includes quotes from Marty Hurney and a source from within Newton's camp.

They mentioned that Newton himself is frustrated with how slow the healing process has gone.

This isn't a fake news story.

Is it possible that the Panthers are telling Cam he’s close to 100% but Cam doesn’t think so and wants a second opinion?

This is what I was thinking or possibly even the other way around.  Cam is telling them he is ready and the Panthers are saying no way lets send you to a specialist.  The latter being what I believe, we all know Cam is a competitive individual.  The "long talk" is what gets me, now we could be reading into what a long talk is but you would think a long talk wouldn't be needed to get a player what he needs to rehabilitate

Seriously doubt it.

All indications are that they went into this thinking it was probably going to be a four to six week rehab process and it just hasn't turned out that way.

There's no real shenanigans in that. Forecasting how long someone's recovery is going to take is basically just an educated guess anyway.

Not exactly going out on a limb to constantly litter sky is falling takes. That's all he's ever done lol.

when a team loses 7 games in a row and feels the need to not make any changes, you get the current attitude. I'm actually excited to see the new look Panthers in 2020 and beyond but we just have to suffer dealing with the last of Mister's minions (Ron and Marty).

From the article...

“I spent a long time speaking with Cam this week and he’s done everything he possibly can in his rehab process to get his foot to 100 percent,” general manager Marty Hurney said. “Unfortunately, we haven’t reached that point. The next step is for him to go see Dr. Anderson and gather more information.”

That...does not sound good.

Yeah. Agreed.  We are already half way through the season.  And news like this sounds like shut down time.  Sucks.

Wtf happen????

Just two weeks ago a report came out saying Cam was getting ready to play, he traveled with the team last week, he wasn't in a boot.

Now all of sudden his injury is not healing.  Huh? Something is not adding up

The report was never confirmed, and all signs now point to it being fake news.

That's true I don't think I ever saw any confirmation on the report itself but I'm I'm remembering correctly the week after the report was out Cam was on the sidelines working out and running, throwing etc.  I, personally, took that as confirmation.  Probably shouldn't have

I think a lot of people were encouraged by that. Heck, I think a couple of people started threads about it.

Unfortunately, it now appears to have been an illusion.

I get what you  are saying. But after all this time having Cam go see the Grim Reaper of IR doesn’t feel very promising.
Whatever the odds Vegas gives on whether he plays again this year I would take the under.  Hate to say that.  But visiting Anderson now tells me he isn’t doing as well as hoped.  And we need to prepare for another lost season from him.

I just want the 2015 Cam.  But I’m not sure we will ever see that.  Makes me hate Shula even more.

Was it cause? I just reread the tweet and it said he was ready to “practice” after the bye. All signs were pointing in the right direction, he traveled with team last Sunday with no boot. Now this out of nowhere

Somebody asked Rivera about it directly at the time it came out. He said he couldn't confirm it.

There were other reports that came out not long after that saying that he was going to be out longer than expected.

Those reports were the ones that turned out to be true.

Don’t necessarily think it means it is fake news. It could have been progressing well and they thought he was on schedule to begin the process of returning but then it stopped short of getting all the way to 100%.
