Regarding the fake punt...

That's interesting.

very. Plus you gotta hand it to Colin Jones for working his ass off to get that first down when he looked to be short. If you're gonna check into a punt fake, you better convert, and he did.

Not to be a downer, but what's just slightly disapointing about this bit of info is I was kind of excited until I saw this thread that Rivera had actually made a gutsy risk taking, go for the win instead of playing not to lose call, only to find out apparently it was all just Colin Jones.

OK, Scot--be honest.  What would you have said if you knew we were going to fake the punt.  Would you have supported it?  I was like, "Oh SHIIIIIYEAH!"

Get out of my head. That's pretty much exactly what I did. Btw I had to record the game and just now finished watching because of other obligations. But yeah, that's exactly how I reacted to that play.

Honestly I found it the complete opposite.

Ron has not shown any riverboatesque calls, and then all of a sudden a fake punt comes along to respond to a td drive, had me thinking it was more of devaluing of aspects of our game

Eeeehhh, don't forget now, he went for a touchdown on fourth and goal instead of a field goal.

I mean that's fair. I'll be the first to admit if it doesn't work I'm pissed just like everyone else. Here's the funny thing: I think if it doesn't work and the Titans win, Ron probably doesn't throw Colin under the bus in the presser because even if 100% true there's no way to do it without it looking absolutely horrible. I strongly suspect in that situation we all blame Ron for a bad call and he never tells anyone, and I say that as someone pretty tired of Ron as a HC and ready to move on for the most part. Just think it's a weird thing.

Good point, almost forgot about that. I think the going for it on the goal line on 4th is the call he's most likely to make because as a defensive minded coach he's thinking that even if it doesn't work, he's got  the other guys backed up and a decent chance at a safety.
