Carry on.  We got a tough schedule ahead and you are onboard with who we have, or if not then it’s because Ron has to go. Allen didn’t warrant any hate by any of his actions on or off the field.

Rooting against Allen makes no sense anymore.

When did it ever?

This may be hard to hear... our best case is that Kyle Allen proves to be a serviceable starter so that we can cut cam and use his cap space on other positions.

Outside of Brady the key to winning a super bowl is a good quarterback on a friendly deal. That’s not hyperbole that’s a fact

Why outside of Brady? He makes team friendly deals because his wife has 8-10 times his net worth.

This. One of the huge advantages the Pats have enjoyed with Brady is that he has constantly given them a very team friendly deal. He makes average to below average starting QB money.

The OP stated: QB controversy is over.

Based on today's events, not sure why anyone would choose to disagree (at least until the Allen vs. Grier debate heats up).

Speaking for myself, it's because I don't believe there was one.

I define a QB controversy as a team having to decide between two viable choices.

After week two, Newton was no longer a viable choice.

Well, until today, there was some hope that Cam would return at some point during the regular season.

That hope generated intense debate for many fans as to how and when Cam should reclaim his role as starting QB.

I don't think there ever really was any hope.

Now one key difference in terms here: I believe a quarterback controversy only happens within the confines of the team itself. If you're talking about a quarterback controversy among fans, that's another story.

Also, you're a poo poo head :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
