There is only 1 scenario for Cam Jerrell Newton in 2020

Meh

Trade him to the Bengals for Green straight up.

Bengals dont seem to be on the same page of extending him long term and rumor that they will slap the franchise tag on him despite his camp not wanting that.

They tag him, and trade him for Cam.

They get Cam to start his last year on his deal and the rookie they draft can redshirt.

Green is a UFA

All you people that are now again believing that Cam will come back and play at a high level if fully healthy were the same people screaming and booing at Cam during week 2 vs the Bucs. Cam will never be Cam again. That’s why Tepper will trade him while Cam still has some value. Plenty of stupid teams to take the bite. I’ve seen enough of Cam since after the Pittsburgh loss that Cam is done in Carolina. Cam was straight out trash vs the Bucs and very average in week 1.

Y’all had plenty of time to digest and forgiven Cam since week 2 this year. Instead of looking at the present Cam Newton and what will be the future, you guys got on YouTube and rewatched his 2015 MVP season highlights which made you all appreciate and miss who he once was. Forgiving Cam doesn’t change the fact that he isn’t the old Cam Newton anymore.

I would take Jameis Winston over Cam Newton right now.

but he needs to operate with the threat of him running to really shine.

Yeah. Hate to break the news, but that's a part of his career no one will ever see again.

2 shoulder surgeries in less than 2 years and a potential career-ending lis franc injury are pretty good indicators that any head coach or coordinator who would put him in a position to run, if he gets back on the field, should be immediately fired.

Fantastic idea. Now that we’ve got an Andy Dalton level QB, Green would love it here.

The brilliance of trading a franchise QB for a 30+ year old wide receiver with no heir apparent is brilliant!

Maybe I’m just not seeing this correctly but why would any legit GM give up multiple picks for a guy who has missed games in consecutive seasons and would have zero tape on what he is capable of doing?

Im thinking Cam sticks around in 2020, battles Kyle for the starting job. A fully healthy Cam wins that job.

Colleges in general are doing a piss-poor job at producing NFL ready quarterbacks, and it doesn't look like it's going to be improving anytime soon. Even next year's "expected to be strong" quarterback crop could very well be suspect.

Very true. But let's not forget that it's not any college's job to produce NFL-ready QBs.

Those schools are already under tremendous financial pressure to succeed and if that success comes along in the form of a Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jimmy Clausen or Trevor Lawrence, you really think Oklahoma, Notre Dame or Clemson care how he succeeds in the NFL?

With respect to next year's QB draft class.... ughhh. And it's made more stomach-churning to know Carolina is going to have to go QB shopping pretty soon.

I get that. A head coach's job is to win games, not prepare his players for their future jobs.

I just hate how it's playing out. It's arguably worse with offensive linemen. Even some of the best ones these days are crap.

I appreciate what Cam has done, but this is a business. Trade him if you can (if you have decided you don't want to keep him). You think the Patriots would cut Brady if they could get something of value for him? The feel-good moves don't translate to wins.

Releasing him without trying to trade him would kind of be doing him a favor.

With that said, you'd need a specific set of conditions for a trade to make sense. I can't verify that exists.

To you first paragraph they won't.  The last paragraph is contingent on the word healthy.  At this point the odds are not good that he will ever play again much less for the Panthers.  At least going by what the rumors that are floating around.

Nevermind, I forgot to attach @mc52beast post.

Cam seems very much to want to keep playing football by his post on social media. He wants to prove people wrong and be more accurater

Not if Tepper at least do Cam a favor by sending him to a team he wants to play for
