If he isnt traded away to a team that is very aware of his contributions as a talent, and his intangible effects as a leader?

For us, August of 2020

Cam will not be traded.

There are no regular season NFL games scheduled in August of 2020.

Are you suggesting it is OK for Cam to play in the preseason next year?

If anyone made one of these threads when Cam had a bad game, I am sure I know what the discourse would be in the thread. Maybe we should support our starting QB instead of throwing him under the bus for a bad game

I seriously don't get why people are making this statement.  This isn't about throwing your QB under the bus for having a single bad game.

This is about pointing out that Kyle Allen has only had 1 good game this season.  Total.  And pushing back against people that specifically stated Kyle Allen was better than a healthy Cam.  Its about pushing back against people that used his early stat lines to say "we should trade Cam, we have our future QB in Kyle Allen", but are now saying that stat lines are meaningless due to a small sample size.  Its about pushing back against the horrible hot takes of a "QB Controversy".  Its about pushing back against the mob mentality that tried to squash *anyone* offering criticism at all about Kyle Allen, under the guise of "He WiLl GeT bEtTeR".  He isn't.

Its not about trashing a back up QB for filling in and having a bad game.

Its disingenuous for any forum regular to hold this mentality.

This is about gloating that Kyle Allen had a bad game and OP was right, he is happy the Panthers sucked, happy Kyle Allen through those picks, and happy he gets to throw it in the face of anyone who showed support of Kyle Allen and thought he could be something. It's pretty transparent as to what OP's intentions were.

Not everyone has to be okay with their team being a laughingstock and getting their asses kicked from top to bottom at home against a 2 win division rival that has owned us the last several years.

If this thread was about Cam Newton, you would not hold this opinion.

We were previously 0-9 with Cam Newton as has been noted relentlessly the last few months when guys were riding that 5-0 wave.

Why should now be different?  Losing is losing.

If you have a problem with holding this staff and roster to a higher standard than getting their poo pushed in at home, maybe you should follow a different sport.

No one is okay with us losing, except OP and the people piling on, that's the point.

Young QBs, both the ones that don't pan out and the ones that become legends, have games like this. It's just going to happen.

He still threw for over 300 yards, but the interceptions were definite killers.

Hopefully he learned a lot from the game and can move on.

Hopefully, our tackles will play better. Atlanta just whiffed by both Moton and Little were beaten at will yesterday.

I have no problem with Allen making mistakes.

I have a big problem with Allen making the same damn huge mistake less than one game apart.

He may not be NFL material.

He is a backup meant to be plugged in for 1-3 games, not a long term answer. QBs making the same mistakes seems to be a trend in Carolina, and it keeps killing us every time.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
