What a day!  Another day and another way to lose a game!!!

Panthers should have kept BUTKER...heck...bring John KASAY back at this point!  Yeah SLYE is a ROOK...but C'mon man!!

What should we do if anything at this point?  Should we rely on the fact he is a ROOK?

I know this thread is facetious, but I did ask Kasay last week if he wanted to come back? He flatly responded, "Not at all." I asked, "Can you play Left Tackle?" He laughed. I laughed. The League laughed at our ineptitude.

It's not exactly a secret that Kasay's faith is even more important to him than football was. Not arguing for or against faith of any type, but I think the players that do well after pro sports are the ones that have something else to focus on and build their life around after the fact. Not surprised Kasay is happy where he is. Always a class act.

My point wasn't about whether he could play at that level or not, but about how satisfied he is with his life after. There are plenty of 50 year old former pro athletes whose lives are empty because they have not built their life after sports around anything but pinning for the good old days.

Kicker is just another position that is listed under weakness for us. That list is mighty long right now.

It really has been a house of horrors these last several years more often than not since replacing John Kasay. Olindo Mare? Yes John had the gaffe in the Super Bowl, but he nailed an absurd number of clutch kicks and game winners. Who knows when we will see another placekicker like that again.
