The Athletic Saints writer goes ballistic over PI call

What commission rate have you negotiated to plug everything The Athletic publishes? LOL!

I started subscribing.  It was $30 for a year so half off.  I would say it has definitely been worth it.  Articles have been in-depth and well written.  Better than national publications who would write "insightful" articles about Cam's maturity, etc.

Trying to figure out why he is so livid. The Saints cried about making it reviewable, now it is and for an obvious PI, the call was corrected.

Are they so entitled they think it should only work in their favor? Are they so entitled they think no team should be able to have a call reversed against them?

Pretty pathetic collection of "adults" crying about a game.

Don't pay Duncan any mind, regardless of what he says. He's our version of Joe Person, the vast majority of Saints fans despise him.

Here's an example after he was a casualty in the Times-Picayune layoffs earlier this year.

Person actually got a lot better after he went to The Athletic.

Doesn't sound like the same can be said of Duncan.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Duncan is essentially a troll with a media badge. He posts sensationalist, clickbait articles to draw attention to himself and rarely do they ever contain anything of substance or value.

He's essentially still asshurt over the fact that when ESPN announced they were going to be hiring beatwriters for all 32 NFL franchises that Mike Triplett (an actual journalist) was chosen over him, despite him towing the NFL's company line and lies in 2012.

I've read Triplett. He's good.

Triplett's phenomenal. ESPN definitely made the right hire.

We also had another guy (who's also with The Athletic) for the last few years that moved on to take a job covering the Patriots named Nick Underhill. That guy is a superb beat writer as well.

Not familiar.

I've read some of Katherine Terrell's work in The Athletic. She seems pretty decent.

Yeah, he was here for a few years providing some ridiculously good coverage then moved onto greener pastures. Can't fault him for that, though I do miss his articles. Not long before he left, he did an article right before the start of the 2018 season where he went back and watched every single pass Brees has made in a Saints uniform and charted them out by route. 12 years worth of passes to analyze and oeganize, that patience and attention to detail for an article was impressive. Thankfully, he still does little snippets of Saints stuff on his secondary Twitter account for fun.

Kat isn't bad; she has some good stuff, she just doesn't go into enough detail for my tastes. She'll gloss over things you want to know and it's like wait, go back and talk about that more. But I'd still take her content over Duncan's high school drama blogs. LOL.

Most of us would probably have named Bill Voth our best analyst, though he's now employed by the team so he likely has some...limitations.

Jourdan Rodrigue is probably the best of the independent bunch, though she's a bit of a homer sometimes.
