Cincinnati will take Joe Burrow. Miami will take Hebert or Hurts. Tampa needs a QB who can start day 1. So does Tennessee and that might be Cam. Tua will fall right into our lap. I will invest a high 1st rounder in a rookie QB who is coming off a dislocated hip than invest 19-35 million per year to an old QB that is coming off shoulder and foot injuries.

Cam Newton days are over. Fans can quit denying that. Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney are done as well. The new regime will not stay with Cam.

1: If Newton decides that he does not want to retire, Cam Newton will not be a lame duck QB next year. He has a family to feed and is not stupid enough to invest hurting himself again to lose more money in the next contract. The new regime will not give Cam that extension.

2: Cam Newton is Eli Manning. His good days are done with. People need to realize that now is the time to replace Cam. Just like how people should’ve realized that it was time to replace Eli Manning 2 years ago. I saw someone talking on a show last week. He talked about how instead of replacing Eli, NYG got rid of Tom Coughlin who was a good HC.

And risk losing it all?  Don't think so.

Losing what? Unless he goes number 1 overall he's going to lose alot of money in guarantees if healthy next year he'll probably win the heisman and a national championship making him more then likely the # 1 pick in next year's draft

What happens if he suffers another similar injury.  Most guys take the huge payday.  You never know when your career could end.

If he is okay I would take Tua.  He is a darn good QB if his hip has recovered well enough.  We still could trade Cam to get extra picks.  Give Tua an extra year to heal and see how well his hip is before turning over the reins to him.  Even if we don't get a 1st for Cam we should get a 2nd and 3rd round pick.  If we are going to rebuild are we letting Luke go too?  We can get more for Luke than we can for Cam.  He might be having a slump year but GM's would love to have him as their MLB.  If we blow it up go all the way and get as many draft picks we can.

    • I wouldn't trade Svech for the best FA on the market, Marner included. Matter of fact, someone would be giving up a top line scorer and a couple draft picks for Svech.  Look at it this way, if Svech was a UFA in a couple days, what does his contract look like? That'll tell you everything you need to know.
    • I know it a real homer take but Im not sure Id slam dunk take that list over Smitty.  Smith just played a different way, he had an ability to just take over a game as a matter of will.  The catch against the giants where he caught it and took a helmet that broke his arm mid air, the games against DeAngelo Hall, 05 Bears playoffs, Ice Up Son, the revenge game against us. Those other WRs may have better stat books but love him or hate him, good guy or bad, Smith just played a different game and when he did look out.
    • Absolutely would have to be anther young scorer with either ELC time or a long term contract...    Could see maybe Kyrou or Robertson.... But I really just dont see him being traded you dont trade your leading post season scorer on a long term deal when he isn't even in his prime yet..   not to mention unless you get more than one of those guys at best it would be lateral with unknown team chemistry.
