Would this team have won a game this season without CMC?

In every victory, CMC has carried a massive share of the offense on his shoulders. Would the Panthers have won even a single game without him? Maybe a case could be made for the Cardinals game, or maybe the Texans game, but McCaffrey played a big role in those wins too.

Honestly, without him, I think the Panthers had a realistic chance to have finished 0-16 this season.

When you think about, they might have won a couple without him at the goal line.  But I see your point, all those games with 200+ yards a couple scores might not have been wins.  The Jax game comes to mind. Still blows my mind how this team beat Houston and Tenn.

No one cares. We have 5 wins with him. He is not the QB.  He can not carry a team to victory. Are you guys blind?

To be fair, remove the best player from any team and things are gonna decline.

So yeah, minus McCaffrey we'd be lucky to win a game.

This is true.

We pretty much lost our best player after the Pittsburgh game last year, and it’s been a downward spiral since

Newton wouldn't have been the best player on the field this season.

Last season maybe, but not this year.

Last season maybe, but not this year.

He’s been injured, so of course not for this season.

We were 6-2, and he was having a statistically great season before the shoulder fell apart last season; proving that he had made the transition from dual threat to pocket passer. When he’s healthy, he is our best player and most important.

Even if he has been healthy this season, I'd still have said McCaffrey was our best player. The MVP talk was legit.

That said, you're right about the improvement that Newton made last season. One offseason under Norv Turner was enough to show what we could have had if Rivera hadn't been so damn loyal to Mike Shula.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
