thinking 2 steps ahead.  no wonder he's been so successful in this league.

cheating isn't thinking steps ahead. Cheating is just cheating. There are clear rules against filming other teams sidelines. Despite Bellicheck's clearly BS excuse the first time around, there is absolutely zero ambigious about those rules. I'm a pretty laid back dude when it comes to sports, but I am sick and @#$#ing tired of people constantly making excuses for cheating. Nothing about this is some genius level move, it's just underhanded bullshit.

If this is the Pats getting caught vheating by filming practices AGAIN, Belichick should get hit with a lifetime ban from the NFL. Enough is enough. I doubt you can go back and strip SBs but the Pats' legacy should be tarnished beyond repair if they've done this again. IMO, it would point strongly toward them probably having done it all along.

If I did you a disservice because you were being tongue in cheek I apologize, but people defending cheating is one of the few things I have a short fuze about and sometimes give kneejerk response to.

i was referring to the fact they had planned excuses ready in case they got caught.  that's thinking two steps ahead. no apology necessary brother; shitposting on this forum is my break from the day to day.

I've said for a long time that what's known about Belichick cheating is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

The question would be who goes down with him. Does everybody know? Just the coordinators? Kraft? Who's in on it?

Curious: Would a new scandal like this affect anyone's opinion of going after McDaniels as a head coach?

I don't like McDorkface, and I'm on record as not liking McDorkface, but being realistic, if you're a cordinator for a HC who's systematically engaged in cheating, and that HC is the most successful coach in the league, I'm not necessarily gonna disqualify you from consideration just because you were part of that staff. I'm definately gonna question you about it closely, and I would probably say to you directly that if offered the job, your contract would include a clause that allowed the team to terminate your employment immediately if the team was caught cheating.

That's probably how I'd approach it. Now someone just needs to hire me as a GM or loan me a couple billion dollars to buy a team.

I'm sure Kraft would know. And the coords would have to know, otherwise what good does it do to steal signals if no one can use them.

I think going back and stripping a few SB titles would be sufficient. Start with a certain SB staring one Jake Delhomme.
