The Texans had to give up THREE first round picks for Laremy Tunsil, who isn't even an elite left tackle (in fact, he's pretty average)

All the left tackles drafted in the 1st round this year look like busts

Jason Peters was traded more than a decade ago, by a very dysfunctional, cheap, and terrible Buffalo Bills franchise at the time (and it was not yet known how great he would become).

They don't grow on trees, and we have two promising ones we're developing

Sort of, the fact Moton would be protecting his blindside doesn’t change the fact most teams line their best pass rusher against the left tackle, and I’d be surprised if a majority of teams flipped their rushers for a single game just to adjust to this. This would now force both your edge rushers to do everything backwards for a game, probably decreasing their effectiveness. My guess is most of the time our LT would still be dealing with the other teams best pass rusher, but Tua’s left handiness would give him more of a chance to see it coming.

The truly sad thing is that the majority of the posters on this forum correctly predicted that Williams would be a disaster at LT yet evidently our professional football coaches couldn't recognize that inevitability.

Correct. The guy is a RG and an average one at best. Turner and our TEs helped him look like a RT last year. Speed rushers will get him every time...  It’s sad our staff couldn’t realize this.

Yeah. Lots of things.could happen, but are we talking about things that are realistic possibilities?  Tunsil  is a perfect example. Yes, he was traded, in his prime no less. Do you think the kings ransom it took to acquire him would be worth it for a team as depleted of talent as this one?

Can it be done? Maybe. Would what it would take be remotely worth it? Judging by the Tunsil trade my opinion is no way. Whether you consider that asinine is subjectively up to you, but the definition of asinine isn’t “anyone who disagrees with me”.

Your disagreement with isn't and wasn't asinine. The manner in which you disagreed and or how you came across in your disagreement was in fact asinine. I have my opinion and you have yours, but how we express and share them are vastly different...

So you characterize mild sarcasm as asinine when directed your way.

Noted.

I will say this--as he tried to do with Jimmy Clausen and did with Armanti Edwards in the same draft, Hurney reaches in the draft.  There was a run on tackles in the first round and Marty tried to trade up into the first round to get Little. Moving where we did cost us a third--- Moving into the first round would have cost us something we did not have---I am guessing 2020's second rounder + the 2019 second rounder.  Imagine how you would feel now?

We've given up a League high 50 sacks through 13 games.  Folks, Daryl Williams isn't the only problem.  You can chalk up the rookie OT sacks to inexperience, but they simply don't pass the eyeball test for me.  Turner and Paradis aren't going anywhere next year due to their dead cap numbers, so returning virtually the same cast of characters and expecting different results is not going to happen.  They have a definition for that, it's called insanity.

We are utterly depleted in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Thats what I'm saying

If we hit on these picks we wont have to double up every draft

We are going Into the 2020 draft

With the same problems from previous drafts

Just chalk this 3-4 experiment up to a waste and go back to this team's strength in a 4-3.  IMMEDIATE improvement.  We've invested in Burns, outside of that, most of our core players on defense still are better suited to the 4-3.  I know Luke would be thrilled.  He (and virtually everyone else on defense) has looked like a duck out of water this year.  Please don't retort with the one-year 3-4 rentals; they won't be here next year.

Even in a 4-3  the Panthers defense has been overrated by the fans

We need Line backers that can cover and tackle

And a secondary that doesn't get abused

And consistency

I think RR Got fired because this team is so up and down game and season wise
