It’s a great situation for him. Washington has a lot of talent. Ron’s hangup here the last few seasons has been Sean McDermott and Steve Wilks leaving. He couldn’t replace them on defense and he can’t handle calling plays and being the HC at the same time.

steve Wilks will go with him and will be like Dick Lebeau forever being just what he should be,.. a DC.

young quarterback and a lot of talent and a great place to live. They also have the 2nd pick and could very well trade Haskins and draft or make a trade for Cam Newton.

poo,.. we should trade them Cam and Luke,... stock up on draft picks and start this biach all over again with Tua and offensive line picks.

this is the longest post i've ever read where literally every sentence is wrong

what a pure, beautiful thing you have created here

I don't understand the vitriol for Rivera. I swear he must've slept with a couple of your wives.

Playing it safe? The Redskins are a complete rebuild job with big market expectations. The desperation some people have to make up slights on Rivera to somehow make themselves feel better is perplexing. It was time for a new voice in Carolina but I wish him well in Washington.

Safe... taking a job on a horrible team in one of the most popular football markets in the country.  Yeah.  Playing it safe.

You misunderstand what I mean by safe. Safe doesn’t mean winning. Safe means taking the job on the only interview he had, on a team with very low expectations, very close to his old job. Rivera has a better shot at a Super Bowl on any other team with a head coaching vacancy right now (with the exception of the team he just left)

He took the job because with Allen gone he has complete control and a lot to say about GM and President. He is in charge of football operations in a 5 year deal for big bucks.Rivera knows he can change a culture, he did it here. Now he gets to do it again and avoid all the mistakes of last time. In the nation's capital who are dying for a winner. This was the job he wanted.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
