I’m concerned that he doesn’t call plays as an OC

im also anxious about the metoo crowd making a mess of stuff he did 20 yrs ago

That is Reid--If Vince Lombardi was his OC, Reid would call plays.  Good thing most coaches do not call plays.  They lead men.  I am OK with it because he is a hard worker, understands and designs the offense weekly, and holds the players accountable.  Who calls the plays does not matter to me.

If we hire Bieniemy, I promise all y’all little sissies that Bieniemy will do whatever it takes to get Tua Tagovailoa. He needs his Mahomes here in Carolina.

why do we have to be sissies?  Who calls people sissies?  You probably have a decent point.  However, I would want Cam back---and find an understudy for him.  It could also help (if Cam is damaged goods) lure Bridgewater here.

Hiring a coordinator from a 'hot'/winning team, when that coordinator has little to do with the success of that team, is literally the #1 mistake dumb owners make when picking head coaches

Bieniemy has a few puff pieces written about him, but he's a glorified running backs coach.

Might as well hire the 49ers quality control guy or Ravens OL coach.

Bc there are a bunch of crybabies on here. But back on topic, Tua is the perfect QB for Bieniemy. I know that 19m for a Cam next year is a steal but 19m could get us 2 very solid starters next year. We have needs across the board and it really just ain’t worth keeping Cam around just so Tua can sit behind him.

He has Harbaugh and Pederson the rest have been average like Rivera or failures like Shurmur

Ohhh, so he only has 2 super bowl champions in his coaching tree.  I’m sorry, that’s not even close to what Belichick or Rhule or McDaniels or  other have.  Oh, wait....

Bieniemy puts together the game plan and strategy for the Chiefs, Andy Reid calls the plays from that. Bieniemy shares the Reid offensive system. He uses analytics and protects the QB.

As a HC Bieniemy will strategize the offense and the OC he hires will call plays-- all he needs is a guy who is good at choosing plays (maybe Scott Turner?)

Reid teaches his coaches how to be leaders and personable with the players. Bieniemy will be a players coach and keep a strong culture here like we want. He gets cred as a former player too.

None of the other poo matters. He just needs to find a great DC. Whoever decides the defense here needs to be committed to a style because we're sitting in no man's land on that side of the ball even though we've got some talent to use.

We're a franchise who spent nearly a decade suffering from Mike Shula, and many people continue to suggest we go into the future with the even less intelligent son of Norv Turner (who spawned even worse progeny than Don Shula)

Nepotism at it's finest

I just think this is the coach we need.  Read up on him.  Here is an interview with him.  "A leader of men" Andy Reid calls him.  I was not impressed at all at first--then I did my homework.  Not going to give you all the information, but this gives you some idea of what we would be getting:

If every thing I have read about him is true, K.C. Chiefs' Eric Bieniemy ought to be Panthers first choice as head coach ... .

Clearly, Bieniemy carries all the markers of the next great success.

We need someone with high potential, which inevitably means higher appetite for risk.   Tepper must know something about risk as a hedge fund manager.  There's no money to be made without it, and taking the upside.

His post was spot on minus Scott turner. And there is no way in hell were keeping any coaching staff from the past regime.

I mention him because Tepper mentioned him during the coach change as someone they want to see as OC if he has a future. Makes me think Tepper would be interested in keeping him. I think he was fine during his stint. But ultimately I don't really care who it is. With Bieniemy though, I'd put the emphasis on a guy who has a good feel of the game/play calling to be the best compliment possible.

Why don't you care who our offensive coordinator is?

People have such low expectations
