Damn I really hope they don't like Rhule. I seen enough of him in the game the other night to make me sick and not want him.

The biggest advantage to getting Rhule would be that you know for a damn fact he's not going to put up with an underperforming OL.

He's either gonna coach up what he's got there or get new ones that he can coach up.

Would love to be a fly on the wall, wonder if this is a hint on the organizations plan with Cam.

Would the Panthers say it went bad?

Would any potential coach say he wouldn't want to work with Cam even if he really didn't?

You can't believe everything players, organizations and coaches say.

I would assume it's the first thing any of these offensive minded coaches want to talk about - will Cam be a Panther or not.

I have to believe that any coach in their first year would prefer to have (IF HEALTHY) a guy who is an established QB in the league and former MVP (in addition to a salary bargain) rather than rolling with a back-up QB or rookie, right?

Right?

Why WOULDN'T a coach want to work with a healthy Cam Newton?  We haven't gotten a single indication the team is going to randomly jettison him for no compensation, so leaking that the coach prospects aren't expected to / don't want to work with Newton would be totally idiotic.  We've heard if he is healthy, Tepper finds him very valuable to the team, so...

I hope Cam is a Panther next year, but this isn't much of an indication either way, nor is it an indication on the coaching candidates.

Why are people harping on if Cam will be healthy .. why would his foot not heal?

Cam hasn't been healthy in many seasons.  Foot, shoulder, sure, different injuries, but how well he will heal overall, is an open question.  Shoulder was a problem the last time we saw him play for an extended period. He was atrocious throwing the ball this year, albeit injured.  Lingering injury concerns are not unrealistic given the shoulder itself has been a repeat offender.  We know the shoulder was starting to bother Cam even quite early in 2018, so there is plenty of reason to be concerned.

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
