Rhule: Ideal Situation Needs To Have QB

Healthy again? I know Miami passed on him but Brees didn’t miss any time when he got traded from SD to NO. In the 15 years before the thumb injury this year, he missed 4 games. 2 of the 4 were rested due to not needing to play week 17.

Health for Brees wasn’t really ever a question. Yes, there was a shoulder incident, but Brees had missed 2 games due to health in 15 years (first two with SD) before this year.

Comparing Cam’s missed 17 games in 4 years with shoulder and foot issues to Brees is silly. There is a legitimate concern about Newton’s health next year and beyond.

San Diego thought Brees health was such an issue that they decided to move on

Haha. No one knows that besides Tepper Hurney and Rhule.

Well Rhule stated he'll only go to a place with a QB .. so he either thinks we're selling the farm to move up for a QB in the draft who he wants - or Cam ..

Only somebody not that smart would bet on a QB in this years draft + selling the farm to get that QB - over believing Cam will get back to health

Might want to take the time to read this.

Rhule will most certainly put a priority on the offensive line. Apparently he also likes up tempo offense - perfect for Cam ..

Maybe he can coach up Greg Little and others.

We do have a lot of talent already here.

Of course the last month of the season would look bad .. everybody checked out, and why not .. a new Head Coach was coming and the QB was out .. no reason to even try.

And? He missed no time. It was a great surgery but doesn’t change the fact that Rivers is why SD moved on and Brees missed 0 time going from SD to NO. If the surgery wasn’t successful then he wouldn’t have played again. Cam’s still missed way more time and has had the shoulder issue for years now.

Lol. There were multiple reasons SD opted to move on but the ultimate deciding factor was not extending a middling QB who had just suffered a potentially career ending injury. As you saw in the aftermath, he did not have many suitors.

Cam's nagging injuries are not career threatening, moreso a product of cumulative beatings. I wouldn't say that any of them is specifically a concern but the multitude of the injuries is.

San Diego took Rivers in 2004. That’s why the got rid of Brees who started 31 of 32 games after Rivers was drafted. All the articles about Miami passing on Brees was before the 2006 season and Brees missed no time in the year before SD traded him or the first year NO got him. Cam’s missed way more time and has had a shoulder injury that has affected him for the past 4 years. Brees’ injury affected him 1 year and happened 3 years before he was traded.

Regardless of what you say, Brees had a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.  Far and away a worse injury than either of the 2 that Cam had had recently.
