No it doesnt. Sheesh. Rhule is the key to a complete rebuild. from top to bottom. If the team wasnt moving on from Cam where is his extension?

Top to bottom really? We're an oline away from being a wildcard team and a dline from being a contender

Tepper used the word "might".  He's hedging his bets.  Setting the bar low.

What kind of funds did he manage again?

I have noticed that about Tepper since he got here....there are ALWAYS qualifiers in his statements.

I do this in my job every single day, it's just protection.

Wonder if people have put together his statements on "college coaches take a while to adjust to the NFL" and "it may take 5 years to build a consistent winner" yet?

The term hedge fund is used broadly in the financial industry and hedging wasn't a huge part of what Appaloosa does/did. A better descriptor would be "bet on distressed companies and government entities by buying their bonds (debt instruments) at a steep discount when most expect them to fail, then reaping huge gains if they turn things around."

So.....two of the most expensive, and hardest to find position groups to fill in the NFL?

We have zero standout players on our O or D line that are under 30, or signed long term.

We are a mess.

I wouldn't say that.  We have young talent that due to injuries haven't been playing the same position I don't think our oline is that terrible I would like a solid FA tackle or guard signed this offseason

Pretty much the entire staff coaching staff is gone. Expected, but okay.

Our trainer is gone.

Our chief salary cap specialist / contract negotiator is gone.

It's expected that a lot, and maybe all, of our scouting department is gone.

And our GM still might be gone.

This team is set to look unrecognizable next year.

His literal title was hedge fund manager.  My analogy is spot on.

Right now, I'm reeeeeally hoping Kevin Colbert is coming aboard at some point.

Rhule knows how to set up a college program, but not an NFL one. He'll need help in that department. Colbert would be ideal.

Two other possibilities from his time in New York: Marc Ross, and...Jerry Reese.

That's awesome news!! Rhule was the one guy I did not want because of that "rebuild" fact. Sounds like we will be waisting CMC's time and talent even more for the next few years. Stupid. Might as well trade him, Cam, and Kuechly and commit to a full rebuild. No point in half assing it. I feel like if they are REALLY going for a rebuild which all signs indicate they are I feel like they will trade Cam 100% even if its just for a 3rd or 4th rounder commit to some scrub at Qb for the year so we can suck ass and get a top 3 pick next year. Doesn't make sense to half-ass commit to a rebuild.

A college coach coming in their first year and turning a franchise around isn't unheard of... It's just rare. Here's hoping that we get some of that rare luck next season. Our defense needs an overhaul and our offense needs some improvement, mainly on the line and another true WR. Maybe what we have and later get can be coached up. I can't wait to find out.

I would.

There isn't a single piece, on either line, that I can look at and think that is a good building block.  If you can, please name them.

    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
    • Willis was impressive last night given the circumstances. GB and SF seem to just have it figured out as far as QB goes.   It's frustrating, but I enjoy seeing our old players find success elsewhere.
