Mods, I know we tend to side with the overly zealous Cam leaning folk around here, and that’s fine. But can we please, for the love of Batman, shut down this record in particular?

It's the offseason. You might as well be arguing to shut the whole place down. What else is there to talk about after 5 wins?

Anything but “Cam: Once a Panther always a Panther?”

Plenty of topics to generate discussion if you’re looking for something outside of controversy. But I digress.

.. everything we have done has catered to Cam. Rhule. Brady. Snow. The inexperience. Cam is the most experienced guy in the building now. This team will be built for Cam Newton.

Why did Kuechly retire? Because this team is going to be trying to score 40 points a game. We don't need defense. Kuechly's side of the ball is being de-valued here.

It was a waste to have a team with a defensive philosophy that has Cam Newton as QB. When a team has Cam Newton that team should always be striving to be the best offense in the NFL.

Cam's back, baby!

Sad people ever thought there was a chance. This team is being built just for Cam. Jerry Jeudy in the first.

LOL at this forum .. just LOL at thinking a team would move on from a 30 year old MVP QB .. guys .. QB's play into their 40's LOL

I never wavered - never lost faith. I always knew Cam was going to be QB1 next season.

It is the smart move, considering the fact that they are already looking at the 2021 QB class, according to some sources.

We all love Cam, but the secret to success in the NFL is based on objective decision making--not falling in love with a player to make smart business decisions.  Marty made that mistake before and gave Jake a stupid deal, for example, after Tommy John surgery. There are some fans, however, who think every year is 2015, like some bride wearing her dirty smudged wedding gown 5 years after being left at the alter.  They carry knee pads and Bactine for carpet burns on their foreheads in case they run into him, hoping that he finds the attraction mutual.  So they label the practical, objective posters to hide their lust for Cam.  They call the people who think like GMs "haters" because they do not understand the yearnings in their groins when they see a "1".  Watch what happens to this post--they tend to get a bit unruly when you talk about their beau.

I know, they cannot understand things like 30 years old, bad/good shoulder?, last year of the contract.  Like they have never watched any sports

It is like Chess---there are times when it is strategic to sacrifice the queen.  Yes, she can do it all, yes, she has been great, but the objective is to win the game, not save the queen.   (Speaking in metaphors/code so they don't attack me for making Newton comments) :shades:

Yep, baseball does it every year.  Great pitcher is traded and a boat load of players, draft picks and minor league guys switch teams

    • Hmmm... not a good start. Maybe I'm reading too much into this but after the guy who has been carrying your offense expresses frustration with his sudden lack of use and your HC just blows it off and confirms they haven't even talked, your PR team decides to use the guy who should be his backup as their poster boy hyping this week's game? Yikes. Hard not to interpret that as another slap in the face.
    • For some reason this is becoming a disturbing trend in the NFL. Teams are shutting down one part of their offense without causation from the opposition. Shane Steichen did it an overtime loss against Kansas City last week with the best back in the NFL. Pete Carroll allowed Chip Kelly to completely abandon the run game against Dallas the week before he was fired in Oakland as the OC. Matt Lafleur abandoned the pass instead choosing to rely on a bottled up run game when we clearly were having issues with the passing game. Big brain play callers some of them HCs are what the league wanted along with high powered offense and these dudes are making some of the dumbest situational calls I've ever seen. At least most of them are young and can learn, Canales included. I remember Norv Turner trying to throw the ball around the yard in a certain SuperBOWL, going in at halftime down 13-6. Emmitt Smith said get me the d*mn ball and took over in the 2nd half. Remember Kyle Shanahan in the 2nd half vs. the Patriots? This shite happens to the best and the brightest. We are just actively seeing it play out in real time just like Atlanta and Dallas fans before us.  Also, not saying Canales is going to become either of those, just begging/hoping for our sanity he gets his shite together if he's going to be our HC.
