Albert Breer: Dontari Poe unlikely to be back with Panthers

Yeah too many bipolar people on here. The best in the league or fuggin garbage.  No middle ground.

It's because most people look at everything in a very black and white manner. It's either good or bad and there's no in between. But this is the NFL, where 31 other teams are competing for the same players as you, all to achieve the same goal of winning the Super Bowl.

The "good or bad" people don't understand not just the impossibility of filling a roster with All Pros at every position, let alone why a guys value changes based on the makeup of your team and the contract he's on.

Right now the Panthers are in a bad spot. They're one of the older teams in the NFL, they're cash strapped, and they really lack a lot of dependable talent. On a team like this, Poe is a piece that doesn't serve much purpose. He's on the downside of his career, he's not producing to the cost of his contract, and he's not a cog in a championship caliber team, while coming off of an injury.

The Panthers have very little reason to keep him when there is younger guys out there, who will play at a similar level or better on better contracts and without the injury history.

Any chance he takes a paycut? we literally have 1 DT on the roster and I can't see us paying Hargrave or Reader. Wouldn't they cost more than 10 mill?

Jordan gross believes that anybody who isn't part of the rebuild / five year plan is probably getting ejected from the plane.

Seriously doubt Poe figures into those plans.

McCoy is a free agent. And again, given the criteria Jordan Gross believes is being applied, I don't really see the team making an effort to bring him back.

I know he is. Im saying if we let Poe go we mine as well not try to sign McCoy. Id rather use the money combined for them for Reader

Ideally, we draft Okudah and use the money earmarked for Bradberry, on Reader. Either re-sign Cockrell or Elliott at a low number to provide a vet presence between Okudah and Jackson.

Guess it depends on if we move to a 4-3, because idk how Reader would do outside of a 34 NT.

Why on Earth would you do that again, we already did it once and Hurney's dumbass move is already biting us in the ass.

I wouldnt restructure again but I also wouldn't say it was dumb, KK is very underrated around here, our line went to poo after KK went down and our secondary went from 2nd in the league to bad imo due to the Dline dropping off.
