Why no talk about trading up to #3 for Tua?

I think they said that about Russell Wilson and he has a SB.

If small (and in Tua’s case, injury-prone) QBs were the new normal, the NFL would have droves of small QBs.

Narrator: Small NFL QBs are the exception, not the rule.

The Burrow talk was a pipedream but a trade up to #3 seems realistic. Detroit is not taking Tua and could be fielding calls for that pick. Miami is not going to trade a lot to only move up 1 spot in the draft. The only completion would be the LA Chargers. Seems like a great chance for Carolina to get their future franchise QB. Tua to me is the best QB in this draft. Nothing against Burrow great QB. But the way the NFL is heading towards these days you need a athletic mobile QB who can throw on the run. Tua has better upside than Burrow the traditional pocket QB.

What would it take to move up to #3 for Tua?

no...just no...hes a one hit wander...

Where has this been confirmed?  In fact Rhule said that exact opposite last week.

#Panthers coach Matt Rhule and his staff have been encouraged with how Cam Newton has treated his rehab and how intent he is to get back to top form. He’s spent plenty of time in town. With so much to rebuild in other areas, having a legit starter in place eases the transition.”

Confirmed might have been too strong a word, but this is the closest to confirmed as we’ve one way or the other. All word suggesting otherwise has been baseless speculation.

He also said nobody is going to be guaranteed to be the starter.  So that is a long long way from "confirmed".

Its like you hear the things you want to hear.  No where in his statement does he even remotely "confirm" that about cam.

"I don't want to say about anybody that they'll be a starter," Rhule said.

Oh I get that, but it’s basically been confirmed that Cam is going to be a Panther. And honestly if Cam’s a Panther there’s no way he’s not the starter. That’s assumption on my part, but I think it’s a pretty safe one heh

    • TBH, if there's one place there should be an overabundance of humor is any conversation about the Panthers or the Hornets. Otherwise, I'd think some are just taking the game way too seriously.
    • We have one of the worst stadiums in the NFL.  Why not bulldoze it and build a real dome or something conducive to crowd noise like Seattle has?  This would just be lipstick on a pig
    • I mean, 40 year olds that grew up on other teams.....simply aren't the same as people that were passed down a team for generations in their family.  When I was kid, my favorite player was Darrell Greene.  Because my team was the Skins.  If the Panthers suck, I can just watch the NFL at large.  It is what it is.  I adopted the Panthers because they were the local team.  The Panthers and the Browns simply aren't going to have the same fanbases right now.  Shouldn't be expected.  And most of the real purchasing power is with people who didn't grow up with the Panthers.  The money isn't with a 19 year olds.  and if the Hurricanes were less successful, people wouldn't be hyping the Raleigh fanbase as much.  But I can concede that is slightly different, as hockey isn't big in the south so most in the area haven't switched over from other teams.  It's their introduction to the sport.  Which makes hockey a little unique as sport.  If you have Raleigh a random MLB team that sucked......I don't that folks could get away with claiming Raliegh fans are "built different" than Charlotte folks.
